    What Pokemon do you feel wouldn't benefit from Mega Evolution? Why?
     
    Honestly, a good percentage of Pokemon that have Mega Evolutions didn't need them; they were fine as they were. Charizard and Mewtwo sure as hell didn't need two. Lucario getting a Mega is the worst thing ever.

    I feel like they picked what they chose to get Mega Evolutions very poorly in the sixth gen, going with mostly popularity, when the more popular Pokemon were already perfect viable as they were in the metagame. Mega Evolution should have been used to boost underwhelming Pokemon, not catapult the overused ones into the stratosphere...or space, in Rayquaza's case, even though I can at least see that one's validity due to the plot significance.
     
    There are a number of Pokémon of which I question to be granted a ME, mostly on Audino and Lopunny.

    Plus the rather unbalanced way they are given out, as they mostly go to Gen 1 and 3 and very little others in Gen 4 and 5.

    So yeah, the distribution of Mega Evolution can be branded as poor. Really poor. I feel ME is unfinished business.
     
    Garchomp and the Lati@s really didn't need Mega Evolutions. Their base forms were good enough.

    Tyranitar's Mega Evolution doesn't help that much either.

    In Charizard's case, I find it really unfair that it got 2 Mega Evolutions while Venusaur and Blastoise only got one. In my opinion, Mega Charizard X was enough.
     
    I personally feel most of the pseudo-legends, like Salamence, Metagross, Garchomp and Tyranitar. Those Pokemon were already strong enough on their own, and didn't need an unnecessary power-up.
     
    Here I go.
    Existing Pokémon that didn't need mega evos:

    Lucario! It's already op on its own, the only reason it got a mega anyway was because it was popular.

    Charizard getting two was a bit much, lol. It only needed one, it's still unfair it (and Mewtwo) got two.

    As for Pokémon that don't have a mega evolution that I feel don't need one, if more mega evolutions are ever made.

    Blissey - Odd one out, but I don't think Mega Evolution could really benefit her. She has very low attack and defense, and I don't know how Mega Evolution would help. She'd be very broken...

    Arceus - In my opinion, Mega Arceus would be freaking overkill... I'd rather see it get a Primal Reversion?

    The Eevee evolutions - I love the Eevee evolutions a lot... but how would these Pokémon even work with Mega Evolution? I don't think they really would.

    These are just opinions, though, lol.

    Primal reversion still adds a 100 point stat boost so I'm not sure why you'd be okay with a Primal Arceus and not a Mega Arceus.

    I mean I agree with you that having a Mega Arceus would just be ridiculous but a primal Arceus would be just as bad, and super unhealthy for the metagame. It would stand a good chance of reaching Mega Rayquaza status. And in a strange way a mega Arceus would take your mega slot whereas Primal reversion would not which makes Primal reversion more overkill than a mega in an odd way.

    As for ones I wish didn't have megas but do, All the typical answers so far. Garchomp, Ttar, Zard getting two etc.. Obviously a lot of these megas were due to popularity, which isn't necessarily a bad thing but it did keep a lot of other worthy Pokemon from getting a boost and becoming relevant again. Like I love Mega-Houndoom, Glalie, and Steelix. Their megas made them worthwhile pokemon to use again. So I'd love to see megas for my Pokemon like that, that have receded to the depths of the Pokemon universe due to not being as strong or naturally popular like some Pokemon were blessed to be.
     
    Not really paying attention to the stats in their games or anything like that, but I felt that if they were going to give some of the starters/pseudo-legendaries mega evolutions, why not give them to all of them? And why do Charizard and Mewtwo get multiple megas, other than the fact they're two of the most popular Pokemon with old-school fans?

    Also, while I feel Pokemon like Audino, Mawile, and Sableye actually did benefit from their mega evolutions, it bothers me to know that we won't see proper evolutions for them now because of it.

    I don't think the two are really comparable. Thematically speaking, Primal Reversion for Arceus - and Dialga, Palkia and Giratina for that matter - would make more sense than Mega Evolution. I mean, there is no real reason why every Pokemon couldn't Mega Evolve if GF could be bothered to design them, but Primal Reversion isn't something most Pokemon would ever be able to do, since it requires drawing upon natural forces, rather than the energy of people and Pokemon.

    Logically, as a creator deity, Arceus wouldn't NEED Mega Evolution to reach a heightened state, because it could just tap into these forces to achieve Primal Reversion. I'll grant that in terms of the metagame a Primal Arceus would be just as broken as a Mega Arceus, if not more so, but in terms of explaining why some Pokemon can do it and others can't, it makes perfect sense that Arceus would have the ability to access Primal Reversion where others wouldn't.

    I just thought I'd point that out, because I'd be OK with Primal Arceus too...I'm hoping for it if DPPt ever get remakes, in fact. xD
     
    I think any legendary has no need for a mega evolution. Most of them are already on the Uber tier.

    Thats a fair point, one I can agree with. Guess I was really only looking through the metagame lens rather than multiple lenses.

    Primal reversion would make sense for Arceus, not to mention it make more sense for any legendary compared to Mega Evolution...not that all legendaries should have a primal reversion of course. At this point, Rayquaza is the only legendary with a Mega and that is how it should stay.
     
    Charizard getting one was fine, but definitely shouldn't have gotten two. Mewtwo shouldn't have gotten either mega evolution. Lucario, Salamence, Garchomp, Metagross, Tyranitar were unnecessary choices. Slowbro didn't really need one, as its mega isn't all that much better than its base form imo.
     
    Garchomp certainly did not need a Mega. Many would argue it's regular form is better than it's Mega form.

    Also too many Gen 1 Pokemon got Mega Evolutions. How is it that Pinsir got a Mega evolution but Milotic didn't? And Charizard certainly isn't special enough to get two.

    To answer the question Pseudo-Legendaries don't need Megas as they are viable anyway even more so for Legendaries. Gengar didn't need one either.

    Be mindful we got a huge lot of 3rd Gen Megas too. In fact a little bit more than 1st Gen, but when you consider OR/AS I can see why they'd promote 3rd Gen Megas.

    Simple. It's one of the most popular Pokemon in existence, which explains why both it and Charizard got special treatment.
     
    Charizard and Mewtwo getting two Mega Evolutions was unnecessary. I like both of these Pokemon, but why two Megas? >_<
     
    Mewtwo - he was already pretty broken and he got two mega evos, not one... losing Mega Mewtwo X would hurt him, but not sure Y is that much better.

    Charizard - he got two megas for what reason? Because he is called Charizard? Leave it just one, preferably X because Y would just be Zard on steroids with Drought and stuff. X would give him a different function. Then again, Zard X is pretty much the dream of every ten year old.

    Rayquaza - I love the Anything Goes metagame but Mega Ray is just what the fuck lol. Should have just gotten a Primal Reversion or something.

    Latios/Latias - Yeah, no.

    Mega Diancie/Hoopa-Unbound: I like Hoopa-U more but why is Diancie forced to hold a key stone to reveal her full power, while Hoopa can just go Choice Band or something and spam Hyperspace Fury until everything dies?
     
    Megas that should not be Megas: Mewtwo, Charizard, Lucario, Garchomp, Rayquaza, Rayquaza, RAYQUAZA (OP, unnecessary, stupid, OP, EXTREMELY OP, EXTREMELY OP, EXTREMELY OP, in that order)

    Wanted Megas that should not: Eevee (not fully evolved, so how tf would this work?), Arceus (would be cool, but its only purpose would be to make Arceus strongest again)

    What I want to have Megas: Musharna (other than the Gen 1 prediction you forgot about this one, and it feels like it should maybe even gain a full evolution), Luxray (Y U NO GIVE LUXRAY A MEGA MASUDA? OR WHOEVER IS RESPONSIBLE?), Gothitelle, Reuniclus (because Gardevoir), Furret (imagine an eleven-foot-long ferret, that would be nightmarish)

    Also, f**k you, Gen 5 is awesome and needs more megas, especially because it has 156 Pok?mon while the one with the most Megas (Gen 3, with 135 beasties) has nineteen Megas to Unova's one. Which is worth giving Gen 3 the middle finger, meaning May, Steven, and Maxie/Team Magma are the sole reason why Gen 3 is good.

    Therefore, Musharna, Reuniclus, and Gothitelle need Megas more than Luxray, Weavile, and Furret because of people like this b***h.
