Is the PS5 worth it?

It was worth it for me. Because I can play my PS4 games and my PS5 games on it. My PS4 has been making... disconcerting noises as of late so it's where I play my PS4 games now mainly. It's practically my main console with Switch being my 2nd main console. I like the trophy system on PlayStation (I know Xbox has achievements and some games on Switch do as well but I just like the trophy system more) I don't own an Xbox and I don't think I have a powerful enough computer (it's a laptop anyway) for PC gaming and PC gaming is mostly digital and I don't want to be apart of furthering the BS of the 'all digital future'

But this is just personally me obviously. I'm satisfied with my current PS5 so I have no intention of getting a Pro (never got a PS4 Pro either)

I... guess I own a PS5? But it's more like my bf's dad got it and we're borrowing it from him. There hasn't really been much on the system that I've personally been interested in but I have enjoyed the experience of playing on it (besides the trophies menu not working right?) Personally I don't think the price point would be worth me going out of my way to buy one for myself, but I think that's more about if the games it has are something you want to play, and what I've seen personally doesn't interest me most of the time. I'm sort of in a position of "I'll enjoy using it but I won't ever go out of my way for it".

I'm also someone who prefers playing anything possible on her PC, so console gaming isn't my top priority anyways.

I don't own a ps5 but I was considering getting one. My problem is that i don't often game too much and I really am affectionate to few PS exclusives, one being Bloodborne. However, ps5 has shown nothing too interesting for me. I am more of a Nintendo girl, while still enjoying a good bunch of not Nintendo games. My laptop is ok for some gaming, so i am mostly playing stuff there. In general, when (and if) i find a more stable place to live, I'd consider switching to a PC.

Depends on what makes getting any particular console worth it to any particular individual.

I own a PS5, have since early December last year. I've kinda always been a Nintendo+Playstation girl, so a lot of stuff also being available on Xbox/PC wasn't really a point against the PS5 for me, there is enough on the PS5 that I basically wouldn't be able to play otherwise. It sharing and being backwards compatible with much of the PS4's library is good for me as well.

The PS5 Pro is absolutely not worth it though, you're paying about another 200 USD for a small improvement in graphics and performance, I really don't know what crack Sony was smoking when they decided to push this. Not that it's exactly new, Nintendo/Sony/Microsoft have all for years put out an unnecessary new version of one of their consoles that's usually little more than a small graphics and performance upgrade over the original.

I mostly buy older digital games from the shop. I'm very slow to upgrade unless there's a sudden closure (like nintendo forces).

I think it just depends on how often you play newer games and how much you value performance.

There's just too many franchises that I haven't tried yet that are older. I can experience that on my PS4. I'm finally playing the Mass Effect series for example.

Playstation and PC are wayy too different experiences, on a PC you will enjoy your solo time with friends online, it is fun to play alone as the library is unlimited. Get to your desk put on your headset, dive into it. On the other hand PS5 is good experience alone but the best part is having friends over and enjoying PS to its full potential. The only issue is the storage, on a PC just add more SSD and you get 1TB easily, the amount of games you can have makes it a bit boring. But since you already have a PC, you'll enjoy the PS5 experience.

I have a PS5, and I've never regretted buying it. I also have a PC, but now I prefer playing on PS5. It's more comfortable for me. I wanted to buy it and I was thinking a lot whether it's worth getting it, and decided to do it.
But if you don't have a need to get it, you can have the same good experience on your PC

I mean the price point for what you get is fine. The console is pretty decent, snappy and user friendly. Having access to the entire PS4 back catalogue is great (I mostly play PS4 multiplayer games on mine) and there's been some decent current gen games that justify having a PS5 for.
