Is surfing pikachu rare?

I used to collect pikachus and I must have picked it up somewhere. People used to tell me it was really rare, but I'm not sure. (and I don't mean rare as in the card rating, it doesn't have one, its a promo). So is it just a stupid thing that people throw away because it's so common or is it like crazy rare?

Well, it's a promo from the days of Red and Blue, and it hasn't been reprinted since, so I would assume that it's pretty rare.

I got one for free at a shop, back in the 2nd Gen days O.o; The guy was lketting us have a free promo he had many duplicates of. I also got Team Rocket's Meowth and a Promo Scizor that way XD

Well... Pokemon cards really aren't worth much as collector's items...

Yeah, that's not why I keep them. They're a part of my history, man. For three solid years i was pretty darn serious about those things.

And hey, maybe 15 years down the line my kids will find them in the attic and have a blast with em.

Me too, I have 3 card books full of Pokemon Cards, and I have a complete set of all Pokemon up to the Hoenn Region. The only reason I had so many was because I liked looking at the cards.

When I finally got interested in the TCG, I was happy I kept them :3

OH MY GOD FLASHBACK. Now I remember spending so much time as a kid just looking at the cards. I would take them out of their sleeves, tilt them in my hand, look how light reflected off of its holofoil, and then put them back in and flip to another page in my card binder. I spent hours doing that.

I didn't have a lot of video games back then.

I used to do that too. I spent hours organizing them into fire types, water types, grass types, etc.....I did'nt have a life back then... Just kidding.
