Is "mach punch" faster than "fake out"?

Both moves have a priority +1, but mach punch says, "this move goes first unless a similar move...with higher speed."

If pokemone A uses mach punch, and pokemon B uses fakeout and has a higher speed than pokemon A, what happens?

But what happens if you clone a Pokemon with Mach Punch and use it against it's clone? Will your game get bricked?

Hmmmm, well I think that it would randomly choose one to go first. Its just a guess, but in pokemon coluseum (yes I still play that) The pokemon you pick have all the same stats, so when I go against my bro and we pick one of the same pokemon, it seems to choose it randomly and then alternate who goes first after that.

    Just a guess

it's basically a 50\50 chance of who lands first.

I thought that Fakeout was a 1st priority move...

can someone make a clip on youtube proving which one goes faster?

Fake Out's move description if I remember correctly says:
"A first turn, first strike move that causes the foe to flinch."
From what I've seen, Fake Out goes first no matter what. I've seen a Fake Out beat an Extremespeed. So I'm pretty sure that FO will always go first. If someone can test it, we could find out once and for all.

It's dependant on the foe's and your's speed. Let's say you have a Hitmonchan with 257 speed and Mach Punch against a Weavile with 380 and Fake Out... They're both on the same speed priority, so basically, Fake Out = Quick Attack. Its dependant on who has higher speed. In this case, Weavile goes first.

When two pokemon have the same exact speed and both are using the same speed priority move, the game randomizes which pokemon goes first. It's not always back and forth, and it's possible to be unlucky and not go first for 3 moves. However, it can be reverse and you might get super lucky.

Magic Coat actually has the highest priority (+4). Then Protect / Detect (+3), Quick Attack / Fake Out / Aqua Jet / ETC (+1), and finally all other attacks.

I have used fake out with a Harriyama before and I was outran by a Weavile with Ice Shard, which is the same thing as Mach Punch.

yah, that's exactly how a few of my battles have went... except my hitmontop has like, i dunno, 190-something speed =/

I beleive the only move with absolute priority is Extreme speed, but even that is dependent on speed in the case of when Lucario uses Extreme Speed on Arcanine with Extreme Speed.

but other moves will require speed. I got boned over when my friends infernape hit my Blastoise first when I used Fake Out. :/

so yeah....for stage one FPMs....it's speed based.
