[Spoilers] Iris...

I would be hesitant to to make comprasions of characters between Anime and the Games. If you want too look at it this way Blue whose counter part is Gary would have won Indigo Conference. Than Ash whose counter part is Red would have beat Gary if he faced him in Silver Conference which he did just not for the championship as it went to Jon Dickson. Both game counter parts are Champs and former champs yet neither have been in the anime. Which means just cause Iris is Champ here doesn't mean it will correlate over.

Quote what I already said. I feel this means absolutely nothing. We have Steven who is supposed to be Champ in RS and in AG he does absolutely nothing but plays a Cameo role. Lance is Champ in GSC & HGSS what does he do? He plays the role of a Pokemon G Man and goes around playing protective duty roles. Not much of a Champ on either front. Champs in the anime outside of Cynthia really don't mean a whole lot to the role of Champ. Alder though did make an appearance and faced Ash so it is yet to be seen what he does. That being said I doubt they will do much with Iris, and she will continue to focus on being a dragon master, beating Drayden(which also drives Excadrill), and continuing a rivalry with Georgia.

Probably not going to affect the anime. The game and anime are after all, whole different thing.

Nah, not gonna happen.
Adeku is always refered as champion of the region not to mention that he made a promise with Shootie :D
And do you really think that if Iris was a champion Dent or someone else wouldn't point it out or tried to point it out (and Iris would stop him/her)? ;)

That would be funny if she did that, punches Cilan for telling. She seems to be nervous about going to Opelucid it seems, wonder why... guess she might still be gym leader.I feel that Iris should battle Ash for the badge rather than Drayden.
Perhaps she'll just participate in the World Tournament as a nod to her role in the games as gym leader and champ.

Iris being nervous about heading back to Opelucid is actually quite easy to peace together. It's where she and Excadrill lost against Drayden and I think the idea of going back there puts her on edge in fear that she'd have to face Drayden again. I don't think it has anything to do with her secretly being a Gym Leader or anything like that.

I don't see Iris being the new Champ in B2W2 affecting the storyline in the anime all that much either. She's already on her quest to becoming a Dragon Master, so I think that's where she'll continue to go. Perhaps by the time she leaves the anime she'll go back to Opelucid to train with Drayden as her mentor.

It's almost impossible for Iris to ever be seen as a Champ though, since the anime is pretty much stuck in time so long as Ash remains the main character of the show.

Maybe when Iris makes her cameo debut in Gen 6 though, we'll see her in her new B2W2 clothing!

I wouldn't say they aren't going to ignore her status completely, well, maybe her status, but not her character. I wouldn't be surprised if they gave her a Pokémon to live up to her team in B2/W2, such as a Lapras, or perhaps an Aron- but I definitely don't think it would be wise to rule her completely out.

I could imagine a gag or random tease where Iris puts on the get up she wears as Champion, it would be hilarious, if I were on the animation team I'd definitely do something like that, just for the fun of it. She could probably wear it for one of Luke's movies. (I'm sure we'll see him a third time round eventually)

no one in pokemon will ever achive his goal. her goal is to be a dragon master, is has no affect on the anime

I don't anticipate Iris being anyone near as powerful in the anime as the game. I mean, she's a Pokemon Master in the game.

I do see this as a sign of having a lot of room for growth, though. They ought to at least do something to accentuate how much of a prodigy Iris is. The anime is at least supposed to be inspired from the games. And it would be nice to see more of Iris from the games come out in the anime.

I can see THAT coming... in fact it would be pretty awesome if they did it!
Maybe it will be movie with Satoshi being the prince and Iris the princess (and Dent the villain as always xD But I love how he plays villains xD He's simply awesome :D)

Also the possibility of her obtaining some first stage Pokémon of her team is imo really high =) She could get Aron/Bagon/finally Monozu in that mentioned possible episode :)

You know, with her Champion crown, it does kind of reminds of Iris' outfit in The Legend of the Pokemon Knight. You know, except a lot more powerful of an image since she's an Champion and thus much like a princess in reality. And not just an actress.

And her outfit has more.... leg-room. And her crown is gold with animal ear green gems at the sides, not one green gem in the center and silver. Who knew that episode was a kind of foreshadowing, and that Iris was going to become like a kind of princess for real.

Even if the anime and game are kinda separate, they often do kinda reference each other. Look at Misty, you ended up having a reveal there. And usually Ash's companions reference their role in the games in some form or fashion. I think there will be a shout out to Iris as the champion eventually. I definitely want them to do it.
