Black hack: Introducing Pokemon JetBlack - A RomHack of Pokemon Black

JetBlack was made with the goal of enhancing a playthrough of the first games in the 5th Generation of Pokemon (my favourite I should add, I'm a Gen 5 Slut) by increasing the availabilty of wild Pokemon, tweaking trainer rosters throughout the game while keeping the original spirit of the first instalments of Gen 5 intact such as, and this is the most important one, keeping the Main Campaign limited to the original Unova dex so only Gen 5 Pokemon are available.

    Features:

    - Wild Pokemon are more diverse throughout the game, with several species being added earlier to give more options during the early game. (Pidove in Route 2, Ducklett in Route 3 and a really elusive 1% Axew in Wellspring Cave to name a few). Post-Game areas also receive this change with as many Pokemon from previous Generations being added as possible.

    - Pokemon have updated Stats and Learnsets, adding moves that are learned from later generations as well as getting access to a few choice Egg Moves, B2W2 Move Tutor moves and even some brand spanking new toys to play with (Earth Power Serperior, Slack Off Emboar, Shell Smash Samurott to name a few). Certain Pokemon also get their Hidden Ability added to their normal ability table, either replacing a slot or just outright being added. These are all Canon abilities and there are NO Type changes (So no, no Pure Power Water/Dark Gorebyss)

-Some moves from later Generations have been added and distributed amongst the roster too! These are Liquidation, Parabolic Charge(Paravolt Charge), High Horsepower, Power-Up Punch, Mystical Fire, Lumina Crash and Infernal Parade (which has been changed). Not only that, but certain moves have been rebalanced (Such as Rock Wrecker now being a Rock type Close Combat)

    - Trainer Rosters have been updated to add a little more spice to a playthrough while Gym Leaders and Boss characters have been given some new Pokemon, items and/or strategies. This is not a difficulty hack per se, I wanted to keep players on their toes and be engaged while having high intensity moments interspersed between some chill adventuring.

    - A grand spanking total of 17 extra battles have been added to the game, 4 during the main campaign and 13 during the Post-Game. The 4 Main Campaign battles grant certain items (such as Muscle Band, Wise Glasses and even a delicious TM) after being defeated. -11 of the Post Game battles are Gym Leader Rematches. They are dotted around the Post-Game areas and include the two other Striaton Brothers as well as Iris.

    - Two "new" areas during the main campaign. Dreamyard Basement and Challenger's Cave have been scaled down and opened up so you can explore, battle trainers and pick up some valuable items.

    - Trade Evolutions have been removed. Details can be found in the "Stats and Learnsets" document but also a compiled version detailing the changes are in the Documentation Google Drive link.

    - As of v1.2, HMs are now unlearnable!

I have also provided Documentation in case people want to have a look while playing, it should all be accurate but I am only human so if there are any discrepancies (in Documentation and actual game), please let me know!

Also, regarding Nuzlockes. JetBlack wasn't made FOR Nuzlocking, but of course that doesn't mean you can't attempt one (You'll have to provide your own Rare Candies if that is your jam) and for those who want to do a Hardcore Nuzlocke, I have provided the Level Caps in the Documentation (JetBlack Features file)

In case you just want to have a cheeky look at the documentation:

I will be updating this post whenever a new version of JetBlack is released!

Let me know if you are keen to try it! Also if you do content creation and want to play it on Stream or upload to Youtube by all means send me the link <3

    - I want to extend a HUGE Thank You to FrostFalcon, whose Gen 5 Editor was instrumental in saving this Romhack and is the reason why I could
finish it in the first place as well as answering any questions I had about custom scripting and script commands

Pokemon JetBlack v1.2 has been released! Check the original post for the link to download!

    Changelog:
    - Professor Juniper has some unique dialogue upon starting a new game so now that you know that the patching
process worked instead of relying on your starter learning their first STAB move at Level 6.

    - Evolution Methods have been updated! Now they are no Day/Night requirements for certain Pokemon
that require held items. The Deino line's evolution levels have also been tweaked, now evolving at Level
    40 and 58 respectively.

    - The move Boomburst has been added to the game. Pokemon's learnsets as well as certain Trainer
rosters have been updated to accomodate this change.

    - Submission now correctly denotes that it has an increased chance to critically hit in it's move
description (it always has had that effect, I just forgot to change it from flinching... Oops)

    - The Unova Starters learnsets have been adapted to follow the upcoming JetBlack 2's learnset changes.

    - Hoopster Bobby is no longer mute after defeating him and now correctly awards a Heart Scale.

    - HMs can now be deleted! No need to go back and forth to the Move Deleter to unlearn those pesky HMs.

Been loving this rom hack so far!!! There's a bug, however, in the Skyla gym fight, where if you have 6 Pokemon and five faint (with the last two of the five fainting at the same time), you won't be able to switch in the sixth Pokemon, softlocking you.

That's very gratifying to hear thank you!

Oh I've ran into this issue even in vanilla Gen 5, have you selected the Pokemon that you want to send out (the last one in this case) and then selected which fainted Pokemon you want to replace?
So if you have a fainted Golett and Galvantula (for instance) in Slot 1 and 2 -left and right side- and a healthy Samurott as your last Pokemon. Select Samurott, then select either Golett or Galvantula and they
will swap places so Samurott would be sent out on the left or right side depending on which fainted Pokemon you replace.

Just wondering what is the total number of pokemon obtainable, are all mons up to gen 5 included? If not, what is missing?
During the main campaign, only Unova Pokemon are available with all but the Unova Mythicals and the White Exclusive Legendaries (Zekrom, Thundurus and by extension Landorus) being available.

As for post-game, I've tried to include as many Gen 1-4 Pokemon as I could possibly cram into the encounter tables although the Legendaries of each Gen are all still unavailable

Oh really? I guess it's never come up on my vanilla playthroughs. I did try that, though, and it just gives you the text of 'this pokemon's too tired to fight!' or whatever the exact wording is. Had to reset the game in the end- lost a bit of progress, but nothing I can't make back when I find the motivation.
