2nd Gen Im Stuck On Crystal!

    Hi, im new here.

    Im on Pokemon Crystal and I am stuck at "Mahogany Town/Lake of Rage"

    You see, when i try to leave, there is this man who says:

    "Hiya Kid! I see your new at MAHOGANY TOWN. Since you're new, you should try a yummy RAGECANDYBAR! Right now it could be yours for just $300! Want one?"

    I clicked yes and he still won't let me through!
    HOW DO I GET THROUGH!!!!!
     
    you need to go to lake of rage,beat or capture the red gyarados,talk with lance (right in front of sign),accept to help,go back to mahogany,enter the little house in center of town,go through the stairs after cutscene,go through the whole place and i think thats all (or something like that)

    I can see the Red Gyrados (or whatever his name is) hes in the lake. How do i get over to battle him. (by the way, i don't hav the move where you surf on the water. where do i get it from?)
     
    Ok here's what you gotta do:
    Go to Lake of Rage, capture Red Gyrados, go back to Mahogany Town, go the the house near te guy who won't let you through, go down to the basement, and defeat all the Rocket Grunts and find your way through until you beat their leader. Then you get out, beat the gym leader, and you can pass. I recommend having Pokemon past level 30. They should be leveled a bit so you can have a good chance.
    To get Surf you must go back to the other town, go to the dance house, beat all the girls there who have Eevee Evos, and the guy near his Ryhorn shall give you Surf.

    Beat the red gayurdos or capture lance will be therfe talk to him and you will go to the house upright from the pokemon center
    Beat team rocket and then the guyy thats sellnig you the candy bars is not there and you can pass threw
