    Dad here again asking the dumb questions that I can't answer for my 8 year old son. He purchased a game link cable so that he can swap Pokemon from Blue Version to Red Version. Right now, when we install the cable (with purple end) in the second GB, the GB won't respond. The second GB says "Welcome to the Cable Club. This area is reserved for 2 friends who are linked by cable." Then I can't go "upstairs." How do we get past this?

    Any help for the GB challenged?

    Thanks
    Russ

    Make sure you are talking to the same lady for the same room.Be sure the cable is plug in all the way.That should do it.

    Thanks for the response. My son said he's in the same room, but still can't trade.

    Any other ideas or recommendations? :classic:

    Thanks

    You both have to press the SAME button at the same time. Like when the lady talks, you both have to press A at the same times, and make sure someone else is with the other GB, and that both of you have Pokemon to trade, and stuff. And be sure to read the instructions that came with the Game Link Cable. Make sure none of the GBs have a low battery either. If that doesn't work and your Game Link works on both GBA and GB, there should be a tiny little switch on the cable. If there is a switch, switch it to GB and that should make it work.

    We've tried it all those things but are still having no luck. I wonder if the red and blue versions and not compatible with the link cable. One says it's ready for the link, but the other is not detecting the link cable. Maybe we have a problem with the new link cable.
    Any other thoughts?
    Thanks anyways!

    Hmmm, could be.You are both talking to the same lady at the same time.There are no forbidden pokemon in R/B/Y, mus be the link then, sorry!.

    If you tried their recommendations, it's gotta be the link. Happened to my friend once. And this is bothering me. You're 15, with an 8 year old son? OO;;

    I think you read that I have 15 posts, not 15 years old. Simple mistake. I'm 33 years old in case you're keeping record.

    Okay if all else fails then make sure both of the same kind are plugged in (Gbc-Gbc, Gba-Gba) It doesnt matter what game or game boy you have, just put in any one. If that doesn't work, just simply buy a new one.

    Hope I helped.
