Hi guys, I would like to know if anyone know how to change the starter pokemons in a version of Pokemon FR with all 802 pokemons. Because Advance Starter only shows me the first 3 generations, and I don't know how to select the Others. Thanks for the help

Are you using a certain rombase? If so, tell me what you're using so I can try figuring something out.

using gen 3 hacking suite or any pokemon editor for that matter you can change the pokedex order and with that change the starters. Another way you can do it is write the script so instead of giving you the first three pokemon to give you the pokemon you want. use gen3 hacking suite to check the offsets for the pokemon you want specifically.
Hope this helps! If you need any more info feel free to dm me

I think that writing a script could be the best thing to do

I agree. All you gotta do is pretty much copy that script and just do the change to it so you can change the pokemon.

What do you mean with rombase? I'm sorry, but I'm new in the hacking world and I don't know some words

Rombase is the game you are using to make it. So for GBA it would be Fire Red, Emerald, Leaf Green, Ect.

as much as that is a useful tool for newer rom hackers, i suggest doing it manually. there are resources that you can get sprites and manually add them in. Usually patches like that are glitchy at points or they take offsets you want open if you are doing other stuff on the rom. If you want I can make you a base rom with your specifications quickly.

so you could make a rom with what I want? really?

No I will make a base rom which can have

    -new typings
    -new pokemon
    -new moves

just basic things like that because I really don't have a lot of scripting experience. You'll have to teach yourself that

it doesn't concer with the title of the topic, but do you know if it's possible to use multiple .ips on a rom?

Probably i never really tested it myself lmao.

An .ips file (a "patch") is a collection of edits to a ROM. It contains the information for what byte changes go where. When you apply it, it blindly makes those changes, with no regard to what was there before. So, you can technically apply as many .ips patches as you want, but they might (and likely will) overlap each other and cause errors. You can test their compatibility by patching them to separate clean ROMs and then comparing to see if they affect the same bytes.

another question, if I add more Pokemon to a rom, how can I see the Pokemons in advance map when I want to to set the catchable pokemons in a zone? Because in this topic there is a modified version of advance map, but it seems that some Pokemon is missing from the list

if you expand the pokemon list it'll let you select them
