3rd Gen How many steps does it take to hatch a bad egg?

I've always wondered, without the fast egg hatch cheat, how many steps will it take to hatch a bad egg? I've rode the heck out of my mach bike WITH the fast egg hatch code on, and still I'm no closer to hatching it!

I don't think you can ever hatch a Bad Egg. It's like the Advanced Generation version of Missingno - a glitch that can mess up your game.

Well you can but it takes forever. And when it does hatch, your game screws up and it erases your file.

I have a rhetorical question:

Even if you DIDN'T know that the Bad Egg was put into the game by Nintendo to delete the games of cheaters, why in god's name would you want to HATCH something called "Bad Egg?" Do people think there's going to be candy and rainbows inside an Egg with "Bad" in the name? O_o
