So I have a Tauros and right now he's level 43. I'm using him on a Solo run so I know he needs some variety.
I know that normal Pokemon do little-to-no damage to Rock-Type Pokemon as I found out with Brock and Mt. Moon (torture) so I tried to compensate for that by having a water move. I also needed a move that could hit a Ghost-type.

    Thrash
Horn Attack (will probably trade for Strength)
    Return
    Water Pulse

Let me know what's wrong and whats right. Please and thank you.

Well Tauros is a physical attacker so I'd recommend getting Earthquake to deal with rock types.

Your primary concern should be ghost types. Right now your Tauros knows three normal attacks and that's not a good thing. He should keep return because it maxes out at like 102 attack once Tauros is at its happiest. Strength is like 80 attack so I think it speaks for itself..

Thrash locks you for 2-3 turns and it confuses you after you finish. For a solo runner this is definitely something you don't want/need. Iron Tail is a viable option for Tauros since he's really at a disadvantage against ghosts (especially Gengar with Levitate).

    I'd say
    -Iron Tail
    -Return
    -Fire blast
    -Earthquake

I'll say fire blast because tauros really doesn't have a huge movepool to help him out and its a strong special attack against steel types who usually have weak special defense.

    I agree, bad moveset here.

    Try the following:

    Return
    Earthquake
    Pursuit
    Zen Headbutt/Iron Tail

Try that. Return is more powerful than Strength with Max happiness and is also STAB boosted. Earthquake hits Rock and Steels, and Pursuit deals with ghosts. Zen Headbutt or Iron Tail for the final slot. Steel isn't really a good attacking type so Zen Headbutt it probably gonna be better.

Aw damn. I already replaced Pursuit with the Water-type move!

Well here are the two movesets that smogon have for a tauros

    All-out Attacker
    ~ Double-Edge
    ~ Earthquake
    ~ Stone Edge / Return
    ~ Payback / Pursuit

    Angry Bull
    ~ Substitute
    ~ Return
    ~ Earthquake
    ~ Payback

    Gl with your tauros.

Well, if you have a Heart Scale on hand, you can always re-teach it Pursuit by going to the ultimate Move Tutor in Blackthorn...
