4th Gen How do we get the items bought in the shop?

    My daughter is playing Pokemon Pearl, and we can't work out how she gets the items that she bought in the in-game shop. (Veilstone Department Store)
    She bought a mime-doll and a yellow cushion and the game said it was sent to her PC, but when we look at it it only has messages she has sent herself, no items from the shop.
    Her mailbox doesn't seem to be full, there only seem to be two mesages in it.

    Can anyone explain to us how to get to the items she's bought? We'd be ever so thankful ;)

    Don't worry, the items haven't disappeared. It's just that your daughter is looking at the wrong PC in the game.

    Pokémon Diamond/Pearl have this feature called the Underground, where you can go explore a little underground network and dig for certain items by using the Nintendo DS' touch screen.

    But there's also another little catch to it - you can make a little home of yours in that underground network, called a "Secret Base". When in it, you can decorate it with various items that you buy on the shop.

    For your daughter to be able to make a Secret Base (or even start accessing the Underground), she needs to go to a certain place in the game, called "Eterna City". Tell her to go inside a house beside the PokéCenter and I'm sure she'll understand. After that, she just needs to follow certain steps that the in-game character tells her to do (they're not really considered challenging) and she'll be ready to go Underground and make a Secret Base, where she can put in all the items she bought.

    I don't think she has discovered her secret base yet. I'll sit down with her this afternoon and unlock it with her, I'm sure she'll love having her own little place in the game.

    Just remember that you have to buy a digger drill in the underground in order to get a secret base. You won't believe how long it took for me to know that... >_>
