I need the super rod to complete my Sinnoh Dex. Where do I get it? Here's a quote I got from another site:

"The Super rod is unavalible until after you beat the elite four. When you do, goto the Building between the Fight area and route 225 and answer the fishermans question like you did to get the Super rod and you shall have it. ".

I am in the Fight Area but where do I go? Two people are blocking the path to route 225 and I can't pass. I see the fisherman up ahead but cant go through.

You have to GET the National Dex. Check Marriland's Walkthrough somewhere for PKMN location.

Have you beaten the Elite four yet? I think that's basically the only step you need to do. Tell me if you have and I'll look into it.

EDIT: OrochiSaku beat me to it, lol. Yeah, you have to get the National Dex then.

If you look at my first post, Yes I have and I am currently looking for the guy in the FIGHT AREA. Can anyone explain how to pass the two people blocking the path?

No. I obtained the super rod before I obtained the national dex, you will just encounter pokemon that are only in sinnoh dex before you get it, such as gyarados...

Are you sure? Because now that I can recall correctly, I had to get the National dex before getting the Super Rod.

Maybe you just need to see all 150, and not actually get the National Dex? Again, this theory might be completely wrong.

Errrm... so did I actually. I had to get ND to even get on that island and I'm pretty sure that was the essential part to allow you to go.

If you're on that island, and I recall everything correctly (which I may not seeing as I did that part last year), then all you have to do is visit the Battle Tower and then the people leave. I may be wrong though...

EDIT: My bad, that's apparently afterwards, at least according to this:

The old lady inside of the Poke Mart will give you a Scope Lens if you talk to
her. You are also finally able to get the Super Rod by talking to the
Fisherman on the northwestern side of the area, near the entrance to Route
    225. Just answer Yes to his question and he'll give you the Super Rod, which
you can use to catch high-level Water-type Pokemon.

Ah, so the Scope Lens plays a role in this? That's kinda random if y'ask me.

The theory of obtaining the National Dex is true. Before you get the Super Rod, you need to see all 150 Sinnoh Dex Pokemon before talking to the fisherman. If you look closely at what the two people blocking the path at the Fight Area say that " Hey you have a Pokedex, You probably need to finish it on someones request. " << Not exactly what they say but similar.

Dunno, that's just what it said in one of the guides at Gamefaqs. It doesn't link well to the Rod specifically. I know I had gotten the Scope Lens, but can't remember if it had any effect on the people standing in the way.

I'm pretty sure you can't get to the island without National Dex though....

I'm on the Fight Area and DO NOT have a National Dex.

=S Why don't you try completing the Shinou Dex then?? It's pathetically easy and may help you get ND and then SR.

He wants the Super Rod so he can fill the Sinnoh dex. =P

Wow you people dont know that much, all I needed to do to get the super rod was go to fight area (Without the Nat. Dex) and then I saw two people gaurding the building to the next place and then next to them was a fisherman and I talked to him and said yes once or twince and I got the super rod. I repeat I DID NOT need the nat. dex to get it

You don't need the SR to fill it... seeing as the Dex is filled by "seeing" Pokemon and not catching them. You should have "seen" every Pokemon once you've finished the E4. =S

No, the people aren't guarding the building. They're stopping you from reaching the northern exit where there are Non-Shinou Dex Pokemon outside. The fisherman is in between the two guys and the exit.

Yes, we know that, but certain people are saying that they required the National Dex to get it, which is starting to become confusing.
