I thought this was pretty funny. Before this becomes a thread where people start getting angry at the picture, I found this on Photobucket and I don't mean to offend anyone..

As funny as it may be, that map really is true for about 35% of this country (with the exception of dragons).

The general mentality is something along the lines of "God bless america, and god damn all the other countries on this earth!"

As Ted Turner said, this country is chock full of some of the stupidest people on the planet, and there are certain people who like to take advantage of that.

    Spoiler:

yeah, unfortunately, the map and the joke are accurate....

    but funny XD

That joke above my post and the map are, sadly, so true. America is seen as the greatest country in the world, yet the sad truth is.. that's not exactly right. I guess in some ways though, I have to give it credit- freedom, and all that. But in some cases- including education- we're not exactly the top bananas.. dragons.

Below: A map displaying countries' relative sizes by the amount of seconds that US news channels have spent reporting on them (Feb 07). Also a related blog quote.

    Haha, that's epic.

I laugh at this because I'm in one of them places with dragons. Maybe one should be called KOALA BEAR LAND. >_>

I see this is a true representation of the world. There has been many before who stated such things (apart from dragons). There are people in certain countries that can take things into different perspective and bring out the bad in it, but then there are others in the world who state the truth bluntly, where others don't like it, but need to accept it.

I'm thinking that its just there for the sake of having a random arrow. Uhm, yeah.. honestly I have no idea, and it doesn't seem to make much sense. All I can think of is it's more "stay away commies" arrows xD

This may be funny, but I think this is what some American children sees the world.

Are their dragons in SA, Africa and Australia? Monitor lizards maybe...

SA ought to be called "Jungle land", Africa "Lions Den" and Australia "Kangaroo island". :O

    And what are "commies"?

"YUROP" theme park? Give me a break!

    Commies are communists.

    This thread is worthless.

We all know America sees America as king. We enforce our eco-loving attitudes on the second-world countries, who just want to be like us, but with all this eco-crap, they can't afford be like us. We also push it on the third-world countries, who are just trying to get by. We're the ones that are screwing up their environment anyway. But without us, your world would be a LOT crappier than it already is.

There is some trith to what your map depicts, but it's not true for all Americans.
I don't think America sees itself as the king by any means. I think America sees itself more as the World Police, as if it's our job to fix all the other countries problems. I think we go into places thinking we'll help them, but we just end up pissing them off. I think it's great that we want to help people, but we should fix up our own home before we go on trying to solve everyone elses problems. We have the same problems in our own backyard :/

Um... No. YOU don't see America as king. AMERICA sees America as king. And those problems overseas affects us a LOT. All that policing we do benefits us. It gets us cheap oil, labor, manufacturing, etc.

I've seen this picture before, but forgot to save it and couldn't find it again. So, thank you *saves*. It's hilarious

Eh... I will admit, the other picture I saw of this gave me a good chuckle at first, but geez I see here some of you guys really like to bash America. x__X Personally, I don't like to generalize. Not all Americans (or all of "America" for this matter) thinks like that. It kinda hurts to be summed up by others as some self-centered, lazy, mcdonald addict who is so naive as to think similarly to the concept of this picture: https://arvind1187.files.wordpress.com/2008/10/the-world-according-to-americans.jpg
    =/

*sigh* Maybe we ALL need a reality check some day. Lol.

So you don't have to click ^^^^'s link:

But that's about how it goes. Seriously. That's not the world according to America, that's the world according to the world.
