Anyone else find Hoenn a dissapointment for a tropical region? I mean it had some great pokemon but the region itself was dissapointing for me, it had some cool stuff like dive spots and other things but it never came off tropical enough for me and isn't it supposed to be a tropical region? Where's the rain forests? Does anyone agree?

Hoenn isn't really full-out a tropical region though, considering that it's based of Kyushu, Japan. I'm no Japanese expert, but I believe only parts of Kyushu have subtropical climates. Tropical or not, Hoenn is a lot more interesting than any of the other regions.

I'd always heard that it was supposed to be tropical but your probably right still I found the region as a whole just okay with the pokemon being awesome.

I enjoyed R/S/E but I admit that I found Hoenn was the worst region. I don't even think that the Pokémon were all that great either.... at least I liked those of the Sinnoh region a lot better.

Sure, I like the games, but it was just a lot of traveling all the time... some cities were really far away from each other. And that ridiculous long sea route from Mossdeep City to Pacifidlog Town was pretty annoying. Sorry, I'm not a big fan of the 3rd generation in general :/

Hoenn beats out Sinnoh by a mile imo. D:

It's so colorful and vibrant with such varied locales. :]

It might just be the fact that I grew up in the same subtropical climate, so the idea of adventuring in it just appealed to me a lot. :D

Hoenn was my favorite because of the story/pokemon/region.
I loved how it was set up :u
I think it was one of the best.

So a city constructed of treehouses and a town consisting of logs floating on water supported by a bed of Coral Pokemon is a "tropical disappointment"? Not to mention the lush scenery of Routes 119 and 120?! IMO, Hoenn had great tropical environs, and I highly anticipate the rendering of Hoenn's locales in 3D via RS remakes! :D

I still don't understand why people complain about the tedious "water traveling"... I felt it was OK. And no one complains about "traveling through tons of forests and caves" in the other games.... (then again, most of the water tiles look the same...but the same can be said for the land!)

Many people got sick of seeing Tentacool and Wingull everywhere. If they ever decide to remake RSE they better give the ocean some more variety.

No tropical region is complete without a rain forest and there are plenty of places with trees, coral, and ocean that I wouldn't call tropical.

Hoenn was THE best region, hands down. I can honestly say that Ruby/Sapphire provided me with the best Pokemon experiences thus far. I don't know if Black/White will surpass it, it would be a miracle if it does. I thought it felt tropical, with the volcanoes, massive ocean mass, tree town, waterfalls, sunken ships, Lilycove, the list goes on. 3DS version plz? =D

I like the Hoenn region because of its soundtrack in the games. What I don't like about it is the huge water routes.

The odd (tree, floating, crater) cities seemed overdone and unrealistic and the water routes were tedious and were not friendly for training my Blaziken.

And for the record I never felt any sort of "tropical" vibe from playing through Hoenn at all.

Climate-wise, Hoenn was the best region back in the days. It's not all-out tropical, but it could at least be considered a semi-tropical region. The water routes were at times annoying, but what would Hoenn have been without them? Filled with caves which are worse?

Well it was certainly different and unique as a region .... let's just hope that the remakes of it will be better!!!!!!

Hoenn is my least favorite region. I find it bland and boring. I don't like the pokemon much either.

Don't get me wrong, it's not like I hate it. I really enjoyed playing the games and everything, it's just compared to the other regions I don't like it as much.

^ I think you has thought hoenn was kanto. lol.

I personaly think Hoenn was the best Games, Region, Pokemon, show(till B/W).
And who said tropical = rainforest? I dont think of alaska/washington very tropical, but they have rainforest. So you statement isnt very good. Coral reefs (hoenn has) = tropical, so another fail.

I preffered the water routes then caves/forest. I loved to just go surf (no replys ftw), the bunch of pokemon were annoying, but so are zoobat, ect.

I think the mapping and locations were excellent, well thought out, and breath taking to say the least. Cant wait till the remakes

I don't care whether it's not tropical or it is, as long as I enjoyed the region. I think it is alright.
