3rd Gen HM Slave

    I'm trying to capture an HM Slave that will learn some of the most common HM moves such as Rock Smash, Flash etc...

    I only have a badge, as I restarted my LG Version, any suggestions?
     
    Well, a HM Slave with Rock Smash and Flash could be a Pikachu, if you could come across one in Viridian forest. Jigglypuff or Clefairy may also work. For moves like Cut, Bellsprout can use both Cut and Flash, which you might want to look at whilst giving a Geodude Rock Smash and Strength, and then throwing all the water HMs on a Goldeen, and tossing off Fly to a poke you will use for the Elite 4 and whatnot.
     
    Farfetch'd for fly and Cut. Lapras for Surf
     
    Meowth for flash cut
    Tentacool for surf waterfall
     
    Geodude makes a decent HM Slave since it can learn Strength and Rock Smash.
    Pikachu is also good (especially for Flash!)
    I'd get a Pidgey or Spearow for Fly.
    You could level up a Magikarp into a Gyardos early on in the game (if you bought one from the Magikarp salesman :S)
    If not, a Goldeen would make a better choice. Also, a Poliwrath makes a great HM Slave learning Surf, Waterfall? (I think), Strength and Rock Smash. :D

    I don't think you'd really need a Surf/Fly HM slave. Most squads have pokemon with those moves. Psyduck has always been good. It can learn Flash, Strength, Surf, Waterfall and Dive. It also could learn Whirlpool.
     
    I don't see any particular need to rush getting an HM Slave. You only need Cut and Flash for a long time.
     
    I use my starter.
    If it's a Water one you can give it any four of: Strength, Surf, Dive, Waterfall and Rock Smash.
     
    Leaf green? Okay...

    A Raticate is very good, as it can learn Strength, Rock Smash, and Cut. A Rattata can learn Rock Smash and Cut. They were pretty good for me.
     
    Tropius is one of the best HM Slaves, but since this is LG, I'd assume you'd have limited access to that :\
    I'd say a good one would be Psyduck, or Farfetch'd. :<
