High School's Incest 'Prank' Is Year's Dumbest, Grossest Idea
Minnesota's Rosemount High had an awesome idea for a prank at this year's winter pep rally. Just awesome: blindfold all the sports captains and have them make out with people. And the "prank" part is that they're making out with their parents. Who aren't blindfolded.

Yes. That video above, if you can stand to watch it, contains some very uncomfortable footage, per City Pages:

Footage of the assembly shows a scene that would make even Sigmund Freud cringe. Dads kissing daughters. Mothers kissing sons.

And these are not just innocent pecks on the lips. The parents are intimately lip-locking their children for several seconds. One even progresses to rolling around on the gym floor. In another instance, a mother moves her son's hand south so he's grasping her butt.

According to City Pages, the school is "apologizing" for the prank. One YouTube commenter who claims to be a student at Rosemount says that it's a "tradition that only happens every six years or something," which makes it sound like an ancient pagan Norse ritual brought to America by sick incestuous vikings. Like hotdish, or passive-aggressiveness.

I have to say that this was one of the most disturbing things I have ever read(and watched), and I don't even know how they can enjoy it.

What was your reaction to this and do you think they should have come up with a better prank?

I don't understand how this qualifies as a prank other then the small trickery, I would consider this more harassment then prank. Instead of doing this with their parents, it would have been more acceptable with peers. This should come under the pretext of "not thinking before acting". I doubt that they'd be able to look each other in the eyes after this, and if they can, then Rick Perry should be president.

The parents were on board with this prank and didn't do it blindfolded. They knew exactly what they were going to do, they had a choice but decided to go through with the prank.

They must be in Michele Bachmann's district.

This is beyond disgusting. A distant cousin may have been kind of hot, but parents are disturbing.

That is by far the worst part about this. I mean, I can see High School kids being idiots and thinking this would be funny but for parents and teachers to go along with it.

I would move far away so they can't find me and never talk to my parents again.

So... I am the only one who was laughing, but cringing then?

I think it is amusing but it isn't like they were tied down and forced to do it, it is a joke, seriously get over it.

child molestation is no joke! especially when family does it. Regardless if these kida are older than 15 etc they frenched their parents WTH!!! and their parents seemed to like doing it some of them were really kissing their kids and not in the i love you my son/daughter way... ugh people sicken me

This is what I don't understand. Why exactly would the parents go along with this? I can understand how the people who set this prank up would think it's funny, but the parents?

I'm not gonna judge if people who are related want to have that kind of relationship (assuming everything else is legal and all that), but it's not exactly cool to do something that's sort of sexual to someone when you know they aren't going to like it. Even if it's a prank, even if they sign up for it knowing they might be pranked, they don't know exactly what's going on and that's the part where this crosses a line.

I'm not watching that. That's just...wrong. That's not even a prank...that's just...I feel bad for them. Having to live in the same house as their parents after that happened. I don't know if it'd count as one of those "you know, we're gonna look back on this and laugh" type of things.

Yeah. The person from Alabama doesn't want to watch the incest prank. I know. Har har.

Rosemount is in the eastern extreme of John Kline's district. It is an exurban town like most of Bachmann's district, however, which in Minnesota tend to be both libertarian and conservative.

I think the parents were in on this for a good laugh, to be honest. They are definitely aware how disgusting it looks to most, as you can see by their reactions in the video itself when their kids have their blindfolds taken off. Looking at the reactions of the students, it's probably going to be awkward for them for a little while, but most of them would be able to recover. For the parents to even consider doing this in the first place (and to be willing to take the time off to do so), they'd probably have to be pretty close to their children to begin with. Heck, they'd have to be close to their child's friends to probably even be asked to do this. Which would mean they are probably considered the "cool" parents by the seniors of this school.

EDIT: Also, the students themselves weren't exactly forced into this. They did volunteer to be on the receiving end of the prank.

Though I doubt it's actually a long-standing tradition at the school.

I'm much more disturbed by the fact that they would willingly make-out with an unknown person blindfolded whilst in public. It being their parents, though, just makes it more gross and creepy.

I'm doubting the validity of this too.

Still, disturbing. Especially the one that starts rolling on the floor.

Read the story, didn't watch the video but one question... Did the blindfolded ones know that they were kissing their parents?

At first I thought the parents might also be blindfolded - nevertheless it'd be a sick prank pulled but at least it wouldn't be intentional - but I am confused as to what is going through those parents' head. Dads are just intensely kissing their daughters like wth. It would have been a prank if it were students x students, not students x their parents?

Guys, we shouldn't speak so badly about incest. Someone here might be the product of incest. You never know. We don't want to offend anybody.

Tbh in 8th grade I worked with a class of disabled kinders as a volunteer. Some of them indeed were the product of incest.

We're not speaking bad about incest, how even. We're talking about the fact that parents deliberately tongue-kiss their children, without those even knowing too. It is bad, so you can't really say that we're talking "bad" about it because the whole situation itself is bad. It's like saying you can speak bad about rape, that just doesn't really make sense. And I also think that if someone here was the "product" of incest, that they don't have a reason to feel offended.

Agreed with this entirely.

This is just weird all around. But, for the life of me, I can't comprehend why the parents were on board with this.
