    Hey!

I'm playing Yellow for the first time since Christmas 2000.
I'm in the Seafoam Islands, standing next to Articuno. But when I throw Pokéballs etc it says they keep missing.

    What's wrong?

I'm pretty sure I was able to capture them 8 years ago...

Help would be greatly appreciated ;)

It is a good idea to apply a status condition of some sort, such as paralysis or sleep. This will decrease the chances of the balls missing.

I had the same problem yesterday.
Get it below 50% Health, and the balls won't miss.
Catching it is more difficult though. Do what the poster above me said and paralyze, freeze, or put it to sleep. If you don't have any moves that can do that then you will just have to get it to low hp.

I never tried applying a status condition but I did leave it with only a little HP.

I hope a status condition works. I just got Crystal for Christmas from eBay, and guess what? It dies after a few minutes. The screen goes completely blank but the console is still on. Figures...:disappoin

Lol.i always thought in classic Yellow,Red,Blue, you could get them only with Master ball.

Odds are that battery for crystal is dead.

Most copies of the metal generation don't work properly anymore.

Try freezing the Articuno. I realize how strange it sounds, but things got dire when I tried to catch it, and I just had jigglypuff who knew ice beam...

The Articuno became frozen solid and I caught it in a great ball.

maybe you can learn a pokemon with a false swipe and a sleep moves....
make artic's hp to 1 and then use a sleep move just like sing..then trow some great ball first then ultra...

Um, False Swipe was introduced in Generation II, and Yellow is in Generation I, so that makes it hard for him to pull Articuno's HP to 1.
