Hello, sorry if this is the wrong place to post this, but I know almost next to nothing about Pokemon.

My daughter is 8 and just really getting into Pok?mon cards, and her favorite Pok?mon is Sylveon. Does anyone know which packs are most likely to have her? There just seems to be so many different sets and packages, and I have no clue on where to start. I'd prefer not buying online. Just looking to see if anyone can tell me (or site a pic) of my best option to get a Syleon. Thanks for any help

So, unfortunately, your three guaranteed ways to ensure you get her a Sylveon in just one purchase are not easily found in most stores.

One way is to grab the XY Trainer Kit: https://www.pokemon.com/us/pokemon-tcg/product-gallery/xy-trainer-kit/ , though since that was released back in March of 2014, it hasn't been regularly stocked in stores in over 2 years. This Trainer Kit actually comes with two 30 card decks (normal size of a deck is 60) and actually comes with booklets that show you how to play, and if you can find one, it's a great way to learn the game with your daughter (if she has the patience to learn the game). This will probably cost somewhere between $10 and $15.

Another way is to buy the Sylveon Collection: https://www.pokemon.com/us/pokemon-tcg/product-gallery/bw-sylveon-collection/ , however, the Sylveon Collection is stupid expensive and came out back in November of 2013, and it'd be cheaper in this case to just buy any of the OTHER Sylveon cards on their own.

A third way is to find a card shop (like a place for Pokemon and Magic The Gathering and the like) in your area that sells Pokemon card singles and see if they have a Sylveon card there. This could be anywhere between $5 and $30 depending on the specific card. They might not have a Sylveon in stock.

The above are all of the ways to guarantee that you get her a Sylveon card. Below are the booster pack sets you might find a Sylveon card in.

XY Furious Fists: Sylveon is just a normal rare card in this set (so kind of rare, but not extremely rare), but this set hasn't been regularly stocked in stores since August of 2015.

XY Generations: Sylveon has two "ultra rare" versions in this set, but this set is actually something you can find in stores in the Legendary Pokemon collections, though the odds of pulling one from a pack are pretty low and these Legendary Pokemon collections run like $20 each.

Sun & Moon: Guardians Rising: Sylveon has two "ultra rare" versions and one "secret rare" version in this set, which means you aren't going to easily get one in a small handful of packs. However, the packs for these, as this is the newest set and was released back in the beginning of May, are basically everywhere in stores.

Those are your options for acquiring a Sylveon card without resorting to outright buying one online.

Thanks everyone! I'm not much into Pok?mon or Magic, but I think I know a couple places in my city that caters to that. And, I think my daughter is, at least right now, more into the "cuteness" of the pokemons.

Honestly pal your best bet is just to bite the bullet and buy online. Otherwise you end up spending a fortune.

That's what I'll probably end up doing. I just though it wild be more fun finding it randomly, but not looking on spending a ton on taking chances with random packs

Some eBay sellers will do "build packs" where you can guarantee certain cards so she could still have the illusion of chance with them :)
