Groundhog Staten Island Chuck dies of internal injuries

    Groundhog Day is a "holiday" that takes place every year on February 2. Punxsutawney Phil and Staten Island Chuck are two famous groundhogs that are used to supposedly predict the weather.
    If the groundhog sees its shadow and retreats back to its den, there are 6 more weeks of winter IIRC.

    ANYWAY, NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio dropped Staten Island Chuck last February, but the groundhog died today. At first, they said Chuck died of natural causes. Then, they said it died of internal injuries. Now, they're saying they gave the mayor "Charlotte," a substitute groundhog in place of Chuck because Chuck may bite.
    Staten Islanders think that this is a coverup. Seriously, here's the link

    So, what do you think? Is the death of Staten Island Chuck being covered? Did NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio's drop cause damage to poor old Chuck?
     
    Ooohhhhh no, now we won't know if Spring is coming. Well guys, it's safe to say we should pack up the snow shoes and winter jackets, we have a long 6 weeks ahead of us. .-.
     
    Big deal... There's a bunch of other groundhogs that can do the same thing - why a groundhog's death should be mourned by us humans is beyond me.

    Where's Sodom & Dipu when you need them the most...?
     
    I don't see why this thread needs to be closed or anything, for those of you guys calling for action. Might not be a thread many of us really care about, but it's a thread with a viable topic, still.

    Although I'mma be honest, I liked that groundhog. He bit Bloomberg. :D

    No... I just feel like this is a rather redundant topic, but considering that it's completely valid & not rule-breaking, there is nothing you can do, much to my chagrin.

    I have never seen a thread have such a boring topic that people mistake it for breaking the rules. This thread is in a league of its own.

    On topic: I used to think the groundhog of groundhog's day was like Santa Claus: something we made up for children. Before I thought that, I was under the impression that the groundhog was a robot.
