Me and one of my friends are going to play through the whole series of Pokemon, starting off with Pokemon Red/Blue. I want to make the most out of Pokemon Red with a real good team of Pokemon, do you guys have any suggestions? I'm probably going to start of with Charmander as my starter Pokemon.

I'm not saying this is the best team but It sure of hell is a good one.

    Charizard as your fire
    Electabuzz as you electric
    Vaporeon as your water
    Dragonite as your dragon
    Victrebell as your grass
    Sandslash as your rock/ground

If you can't trade with your friend from Blue to get Sandshrew then use Nidoking

I've used this team before and trust me it's beast if you don't use them your missing out.

    Use this team:

    Blastoise
    Arcanine
    Vilepume
    Golem
    Raichu
    Pidgeot/Fearow/Dodrio

This team is best of ya
    -Charizard
    -Raichu
    -Victrebell
    -Nidoking
    -Vaporeon
    -Dragonite/Articuno
    .
@Aryan : Arcanine and Vilepume can't be obtained in Pokemon Red.
    .
@ShinyUmbreon : Electabuzz can't be obtained in Pokemon Red.

Mix up types instead of using more than 1 type (like 3 fire types on your team)
    I use
    Charizard
    Blastoise
    Raichu
    Gengar
    Dragonite
    Nidoking

you can use this team, it is truly beast!!
try to use as many types as possible
    fire/flying - Charizard
    poison/ground - Nidoking
water (almost ice lol) - Vaporeon
    fighting - Hitmonlee
normal (and very flexible) - Tauros
psychic - Alakazam (if you can't trade, settle for Mr. Mime or Kadabra)

now you will never be at a full type disadvantage, and you can use moves of all types!! tauros and nidoking are the staples of this team because they can learn moves of almost any type and they are very strong physically, if you choose to use force over elements.

    My team last playthrough was

    Charizard
    Articuno
    Vaporeon
    Magneton
    Chansey
    Nidoking

    The biggest key is balance.

You have plenty of suggestions right now, so I'll lock this. When you pick some Pokemon, use the in-game team help forum to help you with movesets and such. :) It's in the Battle Center. Also, next time you want team suggestions, please use the Q&A thread. There's one in each section for the different Pokemon games. You could also use in-game team help's Q&A for that as well. Good luck to ya!

    Locked.
