I noticed when some of the FR/LG teams were posted that they had stuff like Pidgeot and Raticate. Here are a list of recommended Pokemon found in-game that are worth training. If you think I missed a good Pokemon, let me know. Thanks.

    Snorlax:

Caught at Level 30 between Celedon City and the Bike Path, or South of Lavendar. Snorlax has increible HP, great Attack, and makes an awesome special wall.

    Recommended moves:

    - Brick Break / Counter / Curse
    - Earthquake
    - Body Slam / Return
    - Rest

No Shadow Ball since it like never meets Ghosts. Curse is obtained by breeding, and if you can't get it, try Counter. Its high HP is awesome with Counter. Brick Break if you have no other choice. Careful Nature.

    Zapdos:

Caught at Level 50 in the Power Plant. Zapdos has a great HP, Attack, Defense, Special Defense, and Speed. Its Special Attack on the other hands is awesome. You'll love this thing in-game.

    Recommended moves:

    - Drill Peck
    - Thunderbolt
    - Rest / Thunder Wave
    - Light Screen / Thunder Wave

T-wave Zappy is cool. Light Screen lets it stand Ice Beams from Loreli much easier. T-wave to criple the opponent. Rest for recovery. Drill Peck because its movepools is limited. Thunderbolt is the bomb on this guy. Neutral is cool for this guy. He needs every stat.

    Articuno:

Caught at Level 50 at Seaform Islands. Articuno has good everything except Special Defense which is freaken awesome. He's like my favorite legendary bird.

    Recommended moves:

    - Ice Beam
    - Rest
    - Reflect / Sleep Talk / Toxic / Water Pulse
    - Reflect / Sleep Talk / Toxic / Water Pulse

Ice Beam for a good old STAB and Rest to improve it as a special wall. Reflect to support the team, Steel Talk to make use while sleeping, Toxic if you like stalling, or Water Pulse for another attack. Calm Nature btw.

    Moltres:

Caught at Level 50 at mt. Ember on One Island. Moltres has about the same Base Stats as Zapdos except Defense and Special Defense Base Stats are vice-versa. Great guy. Awesome. Limited movepool though. Preferbly neutral nature or -Speed Nature.

    Recommended moves:

    - Flamethrower
    - Aerial Ace
    - Rest / Sleep Talk / Toxic / Filler
    - Rest / Sleep Talk / Toxic / Filler

Limited movepool. That's what really sucks about the birds.

    Dodrio:

Doduo can be found near Fuchsia City. Dodrio has great Attack, decent Speed, and ok everything else. It soooooooo outclasses Fearow and Pidgeot.

    Recommended moves:

    - Drill Peck
    - Return
    - Quick Attack
    - Steel Wing

Strap a CB on with Adamant and kill stuff. Not much more to say here.

    Slowbro:

Caught at Seaform Islands. Great Defense, decent Special Attack, and ok Special Defense and sucky Speed. Good Pokemon though.

    Recommended moves:

    - Calm Mind
    - Surf
    - Ice Beam / Psychic / Rest
    - Ice Beam / Psychic / Rest

Rest is cool with CM. Psychic for STAB or Ice Beam to cover Grass and Flying and more stuff that Psychic wouldn't usually cover. Bold or Modest Nature for this guy.

    Charizard:

Starter of course. Decent Special stats and mediocre Defense and HP. Its Attack is ok too.

    Recommended moves:

    - Fire Blast / Overheat
    - Earthquake / Rock Slide
    - Dragon Dance / Swords Dance
    - Aerial Ace / Wing Attack

Lots of choices just in cases if your's is limited. Adamant Attacking Zard is best.

    Blastoise:

Starter. Tank thing. Attack and Speed are mediocre and Defenses and Special Attack are pretty cool.

    Recommended moves:

    - Ice Beam
    - Bite / Toxic
    - Rest
    - Surf

Bite if you want another attack or Toxic to stall. Bold Nature is prefered on this tank.

    Venasaur:

Starter. It can absorb special hits well in-game.

    Recommended moves:

    - Giga Drain / Razor Leaf / Solarbeam
    - Sleep Powder
    - Sludge Bomb
    - Growth / Leech Seed / Swords Dance

Sleep Powder and Sludge Bomb are pretty cool. Preferbly Razor Leaf as your Grass atack. Growth for Grass power, Swords Dance for Sludge Bomb power, or Leech Seed to drain. Relaxed, Quiet, or Sassy is cool for this guy.

    Machamp:

    Kills crap like wonders.

    Recommended moves:

    - Bulk Up / Facade
    - Cross Chop
    - Rock Slide
    - Earthquake

Probably best set in-game. Too bad its so hard to get HP Bug on it. Anyway, Facade over Bulk Up if using CB. Bulk Up set is better IMO.

    Magmar:

Special attacker. Physical attacker. Great option to use in-game.

    Recommended moves:

    - Flamethrower
    - Psychic / Thunderpunch
    - Brick Break / Cross Chop
    - Confuse Ray / Filler

Flamethrower is standard on this guy. Thunderpunch if you have access to a Battle Frontier move tutor else Psychic. Cross Chop is from breeding, though Brick Break over Cross Chop if unobtainable. The last slot is basicly your choice.

I will promise to add more. I got to log off in a while and I'll add more every so often. Sticky would be greatly appreciated. I hope this helps so far.

Legends arent cheap, just the ubers
    Uber List
    Mewtwo
    Mew
    Wobbuffet
    Ho-oh
    Lugia
    Latias
    Latios
    Groundon
    Kyogre
    Rayquaza
    Deoxys

and YoMama, you cant get CBs in LGFR without trading from RSE

I guess they aren't that cheap but you can still beat the game much quicker with them and thats why i don't like them

I dont really catch them until I get them the right nature, to me using them is like using any poke, If you hate legends dont talk to me cause I love Zapdos and Raikou. Using things other than legends is an option.

Why, oh why do you suggest a Venusaur with Solarbeam? O.O Solarbeam Venusaur sucks even in-game, and that says a lot. Earthquake is also always an option for Venusaur. And by the way, Moltres and Articuno are practicaly useless in-game. Articuno and Moltres need their XD moves to work well.

In-game you might aswell go with:

    Articuno@Leftovers/Whatever

    - Ice Beam
    - Sheer Cold
    - Mind Reader
    - Rest/Reflect

I know it's a cheap strategy, but does it really matter against an AI?

Strong normal Pokémon are just as good as any non-uber legendary. Aerodactyl, for example, is one heck of a sweeper and will definitely prove to be at least as useful as Zapdos.

I strongly disagree with the nature of this thread. Limiting yourself to a handful of Pokemon out of over 200 is not very fun. You should train as many different Pokes as you want to. Yes, even the Pidgey and Rattatas. Limiting what you train will only limit yourself. Plus it is in-game. Now, for competitive battling, this thread makes a little more sense.
