Good Moveset For Pikachu

Seriously, Pikachu? Well in my opinion, Raichu is better, but, of course, that's just me. I'm not sure if this will work for Pikachu, but here's what I gave Raichu.

Pikachu-Light Ball
Thunderbolt
Grass Knot
Nasty Plot
Focus Blast/Brick Break

I assume that you have a Light Ball (people who choose Pikachu usually has one), So with a good Nasty Plot charge, you could sweep through much. Of course, it will already have a boost from Light Ball, but still, I don't use Pikachu, so I'm not sure.

Pikachu alone doesn't get Focus Blast.

But Brick Break does make a viable option to work against Blissey since Light Ball also raises Normal Attack. HP Ice is optional if you want to hit Dragons.

When I had a Raichu in last Pokemon Emerald game, I had him know:
  • Volt Tackle
  • Iron Tail
  • Double-Edge
  • Attract/Double Team
This moveset is kind of reckless though, he loses HP in two of the moves (Double Edge & Volt Tackle), and the other move has bad accuracy (Iron Tail).

I haven't used Pika in a long time, well at least not since a proper game of 3rd gen but here's a suggestion:

Pikachu @ Light Ball
- T-bolt
- Brick Break
- Thunder Wave
- Grass Knot / Surf

    [*]Iron Tail Brick Break
    [*]Double-EdgeHP Grass/Ice

I can't really say that moveset is too good. Volt Tackle, sure, but Iron Tail is too inaccurate. Double-Edge is just asking for trouble, & Attract/Double Team is a waste.

Remember, this is just a Emerald moveset, I don't feel like re-posting the Diamond set again.

Is that the pikachu I traded to you? :D My Pikachu looks something like this.

Pikachu@lightball
Static: may paralyze foe
Naive(+speed -sp.def)
evs: 6hp 252sp.att 252speed
-substitute/encore
-nasty plot
-thunderbolt
-grass knot

Pikachu is awesome but always look out for dugtrio.. Duggy has faster speed and has arena trap, is immune to tbolt so it easily switches in to Pikachu. If you suspect a dugtrio switch in, you can 1.sub up. that way even if you're trapped, you still have a sub up and you can KO him the turn he uses earthquake to break your sub. 2. use grass knot. KO the nuisance on the switch in.

t-bolt
iron-tail Nasty Plot
grass knot
brick break

Iron Tail seems nice, but is too inaccurate, I learned the hard way. C Dog has a nice set, though

I've spend a few days myself breeding a Modest Pikachu, and Ev training it in Sp. Atk and Speed, and here's what it looks like now:

Pikachu @ Light Ball
Modest Nature, Static.

Thunderbolt
Nasty Plot
Light Screen
Volt Tackle

What I was thinking is replace Volt Tackle with Grass Knot, as an Atk-reducing nature makes it pointless. Light Screen could be uselfull for surviving Special Attacks, but I was thinking about replacing this with either Substitute or Brick Break. Any thoughts?

Why do I have to keep on repeating myself? What you have is good, but you need Grass Knot. So yes, take out Volt Takle. As for Light Screen, I'm not sure. I don't use Pikachu, but what you are saying makes sense.
