Golden Shiny rattata in pokemon fire red?

In Pokemon Fire Red, I was training my pokemon when I noticed there was a slightly golden colored wild rattata in the game and I caught it.
I was wondering if there is anything special about this type of pokemon except for the fact that it's a rare catch or a minor glitch?

Congratulations: You have just caught yourself a Shiny Pokemon. It's a rare find, since the chances of finding one are 1/6000-something. You did good by catching it.

Yep, you did very well. It's rare, but that's about all it offers you - it's rarity. It's no stronger than a normal Pokemon, but definitely keep it.

Trade it off for like, an event pokemon or something. That's what everyone else does with shinies. Or train it into some kind of god.
