Hey! I am going to buy a Nintendo 3ds xl or new 3ds, and I don't know which would be better, of course it is mostly for pokemons, maybe for few other games, it is going to be my first Nintendo console. And in my country in dollars old 3ds xl cost 126.5 $ and new 3ds (normal size) cost 204 $. My question is how much pokemons games will get old 3ds? If one or two, I think I am gonna buy new 3ds but if 3 or more I am buying old 3ds. I am going to buy new graphic card to pic too so my budget isn't high, and that's why I would like cheaper old 3ds xl :)

Given there's not much that's New 3DS exclusive, you'd still be better off getting the original 3DS which is cheaper and you'd still be able to get a lot of games for it.

Just get the O3DS if you want the cheaper option. As someone who has a N3DSXL- and loves it, mind you, there's no reason yet to indicate that the N3DS will be necessary for future games and, unless Nintendo really wants to push the N3DS as the quintessential 3DS, which, looking at sales, really won't be necessary, then they won't make later Pokemon games for it exclusively.

I'm not saying that it's not a possibility, it always is, but it's pretty unlikely. If you're really unsure, I'd maybe wait or save up for a N3DS, but I wouldn't take the O3DS off the table. Since this is a matter of a good sum of money, I don't really want to make a solid recommendation on this, so be careful with your final decision.

Regardless, you planning to buy new 3DS or a normal 3DS at any size, pokemon can still playable on both consoles. If your on limited budget, best buy 3DS XL instead the NEW 3DS XL which is higher price with pwetty buttons

i would get the new 3dsxl! i have the monster hunter edition and i can honestly say the download time is much faster than the old one! also, the games do load much faster. i also love the bigger screen and the c-stick.

Get an OG 3DS XL if all you're planning on is playing Pokemon.

The New 3DS is great, but only worth the price if you plan on investing a lot of time and buying a bunch of games with it, otherwise you won't miss out on its feature.

Is there any performance difference between the old 3DS and the new 3DS? If there is, is it worth the price for the performance? Thanks.

Thanks for replies :) and yeah new 3ds have better processor and maybe something else but for now you can see this better performance only in loading screens etc. new 3ds have more buttons and new stick, plus 3d effect was improved. Maybe there is something else which I don't remember.

How much is the new 3ds xl in your country? I think it would be best to save up as the stable 3D is such an improvement from og 3ds, plus the os is faster and the internet is browser is much nicer.
