I am using GIMP and want to make my tileset background transparent for RPGXP.
How can I do this? I have tried from past several days about how to do the same.
I Alpha opacity doesnt work. The Fizzy tool selection and then clearing the white background area oesnt work.
    Please help!

Hi, I also use GIMP for any art that I do. Assuming the background is all 1 color (and that color is nowhere else in the tileset or in few enough places that you can go back and manually fill them back in), you can press Shift+O and then select the background color. It will select everything on the layer that is that color. You can also use the magic wand, but it's a bit more manual work. If you click delete, it should all go away, but if it doesn't or changes to a different color, right click, then go to Layer --> Transparency --> Add Alpha Channel and then try again. Make sure to save as a PNG.

Well thankyou for your timely response!
But I have tried all of this.
I would be thankful if you did that for me. Can you please mind lending your time for me? I will put your name in Credits for helping me.
    Thankyou!
Seeing ahead for a positive response!

If all this didn't work for you, you could also copy the whole tileset, create a new transparent empty image and paste the tileset onto it.
Go onto File => New => Advanced options => Fill with => Transparency. Then paste your copied stuff and that's it.
