4th Gen Getting Combee in the Honey Trees (Help Please!)

    I really don't understand how the "Honey Trees" work. On on tree I put honey on it, and I've been told I need to wait 24 hours for something, but I don't understand what. If a pokemon is drawn to it, where will I find it. Thanks for the help in advance.
     
    I think its actually between 6 - 10 hours (normally I check around the 8 hour mark)

    And if a pokemon is in the tree, it will be rustling, walk over to it and press A and you will enter a pokemon battle
     
    When you put some honey on the Yellow tree, wait 12 hours. Go back to it and if it is shacking, press A, you'll battle a Honey pokemon(Combee, unchlax, Wurmple, Heracros, etc.)
     
    Combee are a bit rare, however. And getting a Female Combee (which evolves into Vespiquen,) are rarer still.
     
    Just save before facing the pkmn. If it's a Combee, keep reseting 'til you get a female, that's what I did:P
     
    The tree won't ALWAYS rustle btw.

    Check it anyway.

    Also, the amount of shake tells you how rare the Pokemon in it is.
     
    Btw, one trick to getting female Combee (which you'll need to evolve it to Vespiquen) is to ensure your lead poke is a male with Cute Charm. Took me ages to find a female before using that. It's also a useful trick when trying to find specific breeding stock.

    WTF?

    Your lead Pokemon has nothing to do with a Pokemon's encounter rate unless it's Ability or Held Item states it, which your's obviously doesn't, since it has Cute Charm which doesn't affect anything outside of battle. The only way to up the encounter rate for specific Pokemon is to have that Pokemon be part Steel and then put a Magneton up front.

    iCAM: Congrats on the Combee! I've only ever found a single, level 9 Male.

    um, cute charm affects the gender ratio of encountered pokemon (2/3 of encountered pokemon will be the opposite gender regardless of normal wild encounter ratios). just like compoundeyes increases the hold item rate of wild pokes.

    it doesn't state that in the game, but it's true.
     
    honestly, i can't remember where i found that out, but it is mentioned on battle-frontier.com.

    why would i make that up?

    I never got why people say that, I've twice put honey on every honey tree in Sinnoh I can find, plus all the other times and I've found roughly;
    one Heracross, zero Munchlax and Aipom, 7-10 Cherubi's, 2 Wurmples, 3 Cascoons and litterally a billion Combee's.
    85% of the time I find a Combee on a honey tree.
