What are your fave gender differences in Pokemon? Ones you dislike? Ones you didn't even notice until recently? All my answers are above heh.

    I really like:

Also, despite initially mistaking it for a shiny the first time I saw a different one:

I tend to like more noticeable differences as you can probably see.
If I can't tell a gender difference at a glance with images of both side by side, I won't like it. Pretty indifferent on those.

There's one I strongly dislike though:

They just slapped some lipstick on there and called it done lmfao

Ahhhh, I love love love female Heracross's heart-shaped horn! That was one of my main motivations to get a female Heracross over a male one in HG/SS, the other being that I needed a Pokémon that could counter Whitney's Miltank. Conversely, I'm not too fond of female Meowstic, but I adore the male one. He's so cute, and out of the two, he looks like the most natural progression from Espurr!

I'm also super happy that the new gender difference for Eevee from LGPE was carried over to Sw/Sh. Other gender differences I like are those of Pikachu, Vileplume, Sneasel/Weavile, Cacturne and Indeedee. And while I don't think it's the best-looking gender difference, female Wobbuffet's lipstick has me in stitches every time I come across it in the games, especially in Sabrina's rematch team in HG/SS. It looks hilarious!

Edit for side-note: I wish Pikachu's gender difference had carried over to Mimikyu as well. With such minor differences as Torchic's, maybe they could have considered adding a dent or curve on female Mimikyu's wooden tails to simulate the heart shape on female Pikachu's tails.

I love the heart-shaped horn of Heracross so much! People say gender differences like that are a little silly and I can somewhat see where they're coming from (boys should be able to have heart-shaped horns, too!) I still absolutely love this. One of my goals is to get a shiny female Heracross in Pokémon GO... whether that will actually happen is a mystery.

I'm a sucker for heart shapes and thus really like Pikachu, Eevee, and Heracross's female forms. <3 Looking at the gender differences article on Bulbapedia there are actually a lot I never really noticed, and probably would've continued not realizing since they're so easily missed.

Favorite: Meowstic. Looks good either way, but still very distinct. Carries over to playstyle even.

Least favorite: Wobbuffet. Stands out way too much. Established the male version first. Views that as the "correct" version.

    Mixed:
    - Unfezant. Depends how you look at it. Either elevated a very boring Pokemon or wronged a decent-looking Pokemon.
    - Nidoran. See above. Prefers the male version far more than the female version.

Never noticed: 75%+ of these. Explains why the mental image of Butterfree clashed with those dark spots, though.

Edit: Removed Pyroar from Least Favorite. Considers the gender difference a good idea. Dislikes the Pokemon in both forms because of the hair. Cannot fault the gender difference for that.

I love the Wobbufett variant. Idk why but I just imagine it raiding its trainer's bag and stealing something red to smear around its mouth to express it's gender, haha.

Oh and Shinx too! I love how the female Shinx has little blue back feet. ◟(๑•͈ᴗ•͈)◞ So cute!

Heart shapes are ok for things that are supposed to look cute. Not for something that's supposed to thrust, lift, and throw away opponents with brute force :).

Heracross' main selling point is its powerful horn (its insignia move is even a 120 BP move called Megahorn) but the female's horn looks weak, which misses the point.

    Like:
Unfezant - How would the series be complete without a bird Pokemon where the male is more colorful and decorated?! 😀
Frillish & Jellicent - I'm glad that most gender differences aren't "blue for boys and pink & frilly for girls", but it's fun to have just one like that which makes sense in context (i.e. based on typical pop cultural depictions of princes/princesses and queens/kings). And both Frillish are just so pretty!!
    Wobbuffet - :,D
Vileplume - I like the female spot pattern more than the original, it's beautiful.
Nidoran F & Nidoran M if they count, but I don't know about that.

    Dislike:
...Most of them, honestly; it seems like a large portion of them are either barely noticeable, or just make one form (it's usually the female) look off. But especially:
Hippopotas - I appreciate the big and noticeable difference, but the female one looks so weird 😩
Hippowdon - Better than Hippopotas, but that grey is just so...boring, to me. :/ And it doesn't particularly go with the sand. However, I like the female shiny form better than the original, and in fact to the male shiny color - I very much would've preferred that to be the default female coloring.
Doduo - The contrasting black necks are such an important part of the design though!! 🙁
Indeedee - I guess the idea is okay, one being a butler and one a maid, but the male form is just so...awkwardly shaped. It very much looks like the female was designed first.

I love the Wobbufett variant. Idk why but I just imagine it raiding its trainer's bag and stealing something red to smear around its mouth to express it's gender, haha.
    Headcanon accepted!!

I noticed that since a Pokemon Go update during Eevee community day, there were some Eevees with hearts on their tails. I think they are really cute!
But why do they have hearts on their tails? Is this a gender difference or is it something else?

Gender difference. Added it in Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee first. Expanded it to Sword/Shield, Go, and beyond after that. Check the link in Sheep's post for the side-by-side, as well as others.
