Hey guys, I just happened to be wondering... Since the gamecube games are backwards compatiable with the Wii, i Was gonna get a GC game. but i need a controller, all i have is a GBA, so im gonna Use the GC-GBA link...Anyone know if this works? Oh and while you're here, Please recommend, Pokemon XD or Pokemon Colliseum?

Edit: Sorry If I Posted It In The Wrong Board.

It's in the right place, don't worry about it.

For the controller part, I haven't heard about that working, but I don't really see why it would. For the GBA control, you need that bottom thing, and assuming the Wii doesn't have that(I don't think it does), I doubt it'll work. You'd be better off with buying a GC controller.

As for the game, get Pokemon XD. It looks better :<

Actually, i dont need to play my GBA on there(Game Boy Player right?)

i wanna play ...XD On My Wii without having to buy a Gamecube Controller(i cant shell out tha Moneys! lol)

    thanks Anyways!

Isn't the cable only for certain games, though? I don't think it fully replaces the GCN controller. I would imagine the cable is still compatible, though, as I assume it merely needs to be plugged into a gamecube controller port, which the Wii has.

I can tell you for sure that the game link cable which you can plug into your game boy and your game cube on the other side be used as a game controller. But the game you wanna use this option should support it. Like the Final Fantasy Game on Game cube allows that the game boy is a secondary MAP & Controller.

If the game doesn´t support it, you can´t use the game boy as an controller. I´ve tried it out on several games, but it did only work on supporting games...

    ...my God you peoplez. D:

Okay, um, you'll need a GameCube controller anyhow. There's no game that supports using the GBA as a controller only. You always need a GameCube controller.

Oh, and Chikara, you're talking about the Game Boy Player, but that's not what you use to link the GBA to a GameCube... >_>

What you use is a GBA GameCube Link Cable or whatever it's called... it's a special cable that simply connects a GBA to one of the ports on the GameCube/Wii. I can also guarantee it works fine on the Wii, since I've tried it with various games that use the GBA as a second controller, such as Colloseum and The Wind Waker.

The GBA-GCN cable allows you to use the GBA as a controller for the Game Boy Player and in some smal sections of certain GCN games. You can't play a GCN game with it. The cable is mostly used as a sync device to unlock things in games. You need to buy a GCN controller
