Most games have been modded by some people. Some mods are amazing, some are just not even playable. It can be a small change, or a entire revamp of a game. They can even change the genre of a game.

What are your favorite mods for games? What are your least favorite mods and why?
Maybe you modded a game yourself, how was that experience for you? Did you like modding a game?

Feel free to share your stories about it :D

I haven't really experienced too many mods. Some CoD mods are incredibly annoying and stupid, while other's make the game fun.

Then, obviously, all these variations of Pokemon and stuff by other users. I actually don't find them that fun, they all just seem too similar for me to want to experiment.

Hehe, I modded my Morrowind with 90 gigabytes worth. The game looks fantastic and is totally worth it, if by any chance someone uninstalls it I will kill them because I spent so much time finding the best and compatible mods to go together. I also love garrysmod lots of fun its a mod which has mods XD I think I have like 20 or so gigs worth of mods on it but the game is absolutely endless.

This'll sound dumb and egotistical, but I don't like playing mods because they make me feel self-conscious. I mean, these people aren't professionals - they aren't even established indie developers (most of them) - and they're still light-years ahead of me in game development abilities.

I've used countless different mods for Minecraft, most notably the Pixelmon mod to add Pokémon into the game, but aside from that I don't tend to use any. I'm mostly worried that I'll end up breaking the game or someone will be able to hack into it if I install some mod they created so I tend not to install any, but for Minecraft they just make the game so much better that I'm willing to risk it haha. I've always wanted to try making a mod of my own, ideally for a game like Skyrim, but I think I'm a long way from that!

    Let's see here...

Chex Quest - You'd have to remember the mid-90's for this one. Part of my childhood, even though it's a Doom-related mod. Can only be found in Chex cereal boxes (except for the sequels, which are downloaded online).
Descent: Freespace 2 - Blue Planet: War in Heaven campaign mod. One of the most aesthetic campaigns ever made to this present day.
Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - Thomas the Tank Engine. This itself is already a meme......so...google it for yourself.

Not really a drastic change like some mods, but I've modded my League of Legends client with things like custom skins, Chinese splash arts, different music, and even changing the text in the game (like item and ability names and descriptions).

I modded my Super Smash Bros. Brawl game today. I put a big mod. right now called "Project M" on it. It's like a big mix o Brawl and Melee and has become really competitive. I wanna mod. SSBB with new music or stages and maybe even some texture hacks next. :)

Im also a modder myself, i used to mod Tiberian Sun a lot and a bit of Red Alert 2, but i was waaaay better with Tiberian Sun :P

Also i love playing mods for games, especially Mental Omega for Red Alert 2: Yuri's Revenge, as it gives you a lot of new stuff and a really, really hard campaign

I've modded a few games myself... Not very many though. one very big mod I was making was for an age-old game called Arkane. It was a total conversion, but for whatever reason I had to format my flash drive... Another game I like to mod is Doom.

    Brawl minus. Just Brawl Minus.

Is super smash bros brawl too unbalanced for your tastes? Brawl minus fixes that by making every single character ridiculously overpowered, and it makes the game a whole lot of fun to just mess around with.

I've modded games before, and the most recent would be Minecraft. I was trying to add Pixelmon. :] I haven't created any of own mods before, but would be pretty cool if I could.

Project M. It makes the game Melee 2 and makes it a lot more fun than Vanilla Brawl (they also brought back, and freaking buffed Mewtwo!) Characters like Bowser also got a huge buff.

I use "mods" all the time in Sim City 4 Deluxe. Here's a screncap of the properties of my Plugins folder:

    [PokeCommunity.com] Game mods

614 individual items, probably 575 of which are individual mods, while the rest are top-level folders for groups/content-creators that are categorized by group, then content-creator, and then the actual mods by that particular content creator.

I've also freely applied mods and custom skins and items to games like The Sims.

Minecraft, Skyrim, and a lot of things for World of Warcraft's UI. Can't think of much else that I've used...

My all-time favourite mod is the Macho Man dragon mod for Skyrim.

I love mods so muuch XD
the ones I use most are the ones on minecraft (pixelmon and such)
Skyrim mods are also really fun
