back when it was still slots, did you guys bother with trying it out? i know a lot of us just spam bought coins to get the prizes, but how bout those who gave the machines a spin?

i used to binge it quite a bit, i mean it isn't real money anyway so i figured i'm safe, and it seems pretty hard to lose if you got lots of reserve money under your belt. you only really lose like 3 coins per full spin, and 2 times outta 5 i'd get 4 back or something from getting a random combination. also, in about 20 mins of play, i got maybe 2 triple 7 jackpots which were pretty darn neato! it ain't something i'd advise you to do to earn enough to get prizes or anything, but i figured if you wanted to take a break from the storyline (which i did), this was a nice past time hehe.

I've done it once or twice in a few challenges because I really needed a certain TM or Pokémon but in general, screw the slots.

They're just so boring, even on 10x turbo with autofire it takes like half an hour to get anywhere, and I'm glad they're gone for good.

Voltorb Flip on the other hand is actually a very fun minigame and I wish they'd bring it back.

ah voltorb flip. took me years to understand how it worked. it's basically just picross no?

Played briefly but not for long. Earning coins was wayyyyy too slow for my liking lol. I just fought the E4 constantly for money and bought items from the prize people that way :x

true, especially when you get access to the amulet coin lol.

I've used a slot machine and it was for a certain Pokemon I wanted to get as a prize.

    Slots are okay.

I wish it would be more like Dragon Quest. The payout is much larger and after a set amount of time it'll put the odds in your favor. You can get all your sets of equipment in that game in about 1-2 hours of the casino. In pokemon it's like 3-4 hours of slots for a single TM.

i like slots irl but not so much in pokemon aha. can't order free drinks in pokemon... anyway i mostly spent my coins at the roulette in RSE tbh. that was my jam when i was a kid. ironically, i hate the slots in pokemon, but love roulette. i love slots irl and have never touched a real roulette game. shrug

Not so much with me haha, did you just time it well or something? I always found myself having horrible luck.

Its probability plus timing. If you take the higher odds ones that pay out less and time it right, you can get statistically more money in a sitting.

That said I was a child, so sitting playing with the wheel for an hour to each a small amount of coins was probably not the best time sink as an adult.

I tried a bit as a kid…hated it. Always preferred grinding for money then exchanging it. Voltorb Flip on the other hand, I really enjoyed! Last few playthroughs of HGSS I got every prize before I beat Whitney, whereas I don't think I've used the slots since 2010 (last non-Pt Gen IV save is 2013 but definitely didn't do it then)

I was actually the type of player that hated the Game Corner. It was way too much of a grind, way too luck based, and not fun. I was that type of player that always bought their coins. Lol

I wouldn't mind if they replaced the Game Corner with other things though, such as an arcade or mini-games similar to those in Pokémon Stadium games.

i wouldnt mind it at all! my problem with Game Corner as how hard it was to get coins and sometimes there is that one pokemon i wanted that only was avaliable on the Game Corner (looking at you Vulpix and Porygon) plus it would probably be more enjoayble to players in general xd

I agree. I don't even think that it was possible to earn coins by playing the games directly unless you had way too much time on your hands and a ton of luck. I always just tried to earn as much money as possible and bought my coins from the front desk until I had enough coins to get whatever prize I wanted, which defeats the purpose of the Game Corner.

Buying coins was probably to get more chances at the game slot, but it just was easier to buy them to get prizes lol, maybe someone at game freak knew about that, who knows.

(also kinda offtopic but i aspire to be as active as you someday lol)

That's most likely the intention, but doing that actually turned out to be more useful than playing the games. That's so funny and amazing to me. lol

It really depends on how much time you have really. I have a lot of love for Pokémon and everything, but the main reason I am so active lately is because I haven't had much going on with me since the summer. I hope that changes soon, but I would always contribute here, especially after the new games drop. It feels flattering have someone say they aspire to be as active as me, especially when considering I am constantly the one seeking inspiration from other people. lol

i wonder how they would do it today if they dint have problems with the game corner being considered gambling, lol

i gotta be honest, i do have a lot of time, its just that.. im too timid i guess? probably the same reason why i still dint join the discord server depise being active on discord daily
