Full Metal Alchemist VS. Bleach

Full Metal Alchemist, and by quite a bit. The biggest factor on the decision is that Bleach has the "anime that last forever" issue of getting dull, especially considering that the first two arcs of Bleach had effectively the same plotlines (rescue the princess). It also doesn't help that the plots themselves actually last forever, so filler is extremely out of place. Adding on to that, he's also only actually beaten one major arc villain (Byakuya was he stopped fighting + Aizen interruption, Aizen was beaten by Urahara, Ginjo he actually beat (and was also considerably weaker than the other two)). I dunno, I think I liked the series better when it was called Yu Yu Hakusho :/

This has been a small rant about Bleach. I will admit that the anime ended at a good place, and I'm hoping that they don't do a Bleach season 2 cuz the current arc in the manga is a mess so far.

Bleach was entertaining for the most part, though i didn't watch the fillers cause they sucked. I think they should have stopped it after the major battle with Aizen, thats where I stopped watching anyway.

Haven't seen Full Metal Alchemist, I think I may have to pick it up soon as I have heard great things about it!
Do you recommend it?

I dunno, I don't feel comfortable comparing the two, as they are two completely different series with nothing in common. If we look at the technical aspects, though, I'd say FMA is MUCH better than Bleach. Bleach was good, until it brought it all the fillers and started the whole lasting forever deal. FMA, while a tad lengthy (original series is 51 episodes, Brotherhood is 65, both have 4 OVAs and a movie each), handles everything much better- its characters, its story, everything- although admittedly, the first part of Brotherhood is a bit rushed, but that was likely to get through the stuff the original series had already covered and keep old fans interested long enough to get to the new stuff.

If you dislike Bleach just because of the massive amount of episodes it has, then your just gonna hate One Peice. 500+ episodes so far, and still going up.

Anyway, I've never watched Bleach so I can't really comment on it, but FMA is great. I've watched the original anime and I'm planning on buying Brotherhood sometime in the future.

I liked FMA better, I finished the original (one of my fav series), and 13 eps into Brotherhood I sort of quit. But I will be picking it up next week when I get my Blu-Ray drive (I'm too lazy to turn my PS3 on, hook the headset up, etc). Thus far I've seen

My prob with Bleach wasn't the story, wasn't the number of eps, it's the fillers. I know they caught up to the manga and had to give time to that. But it was getting to the point where it was filler after filler after filler. Get 10 eps into the arc and you get a 20 ep filler, get 15 more and here's another filler. I got sick of it so I quit watching, might pick it up some day but... we'll see.
And I know someone will say "Well don't watch the fillers", I won't feel like I've finished the series unless I watch all the eps... And I don't really want to see Rukia's new haircut. XD

Fullmetal Alchemist. I love the storyline (I prefer manga/brotherhood over the first anime), the art is amazing, and I like the songs. As for Bleach, based on the episodes I watched (which isn't much), it's an interesting anime, but it's so long. I pretty much agree with what Arcanine said about it. Bleach reminds me of Naruto in terms of its length (I quit watching when we lost the channel that airs Naruto, and I don't have the patience to load all those episodes online).

FullMetal Alchemist. The plot is amazing and I love the characters! Bleach drags on too long for me and I'm honestly bored with it right now. Also, Bleach has too many filler arcs and not enough story arcs in my opinion. The ending of the original FullMetal Alchemist made me cry because Edward Elric is the best, okay? And Brotherhood I watched the whole way through as well I thought the plot was great but I didn't like that they left things out.

And Bleach isn't as funny as FullMetal Alchemist is which is another reason why I like it more than Bleach.

If you dislike Bleach just because of the massive amount of episodes it has, then your just gonna hate One Peice. 500+ episodes so far, and still going up.

That's the thing though- where One Piece actually keeps the plot moving and just about everything that happens is actually relevant, Bleach....doesn't. I'm all for a series being lengthy, but Bleach simply drags on and on and on, hardly ever getting anywhere.

And to stay on topic- FMA doesn't do this either, particularly Brotherhood, save for the first episode, which actually serves to set the stage for everything else, and a catch-up episode about mid-way through the series- but even then, they manage to keep it relevant for reasons I wont go into here because some people could see it as slightly spoilerish.

Voting for FMA. I've actually seen both seasons in their entirety, while with Bleach I only pop in to watch when I feel like staying up to see it on Adult Swim. I definitely preferred the story, setting, and characters of FMA better. It's one of the few series that i've actually ventured out of my "comfort zone" of anime genres to watch.

I prefer FullMetal Alchemist as well. Bleach just got boring with the fillers, so I resorted to only watching relevant episodes that pertain to the plot. I barely watched Bleach because of this. The original FMA had this problem, but they just made their own ending and it worked out fine. At least I got to finish the series. But Brotherhood has nearly no fillers--except for maybe two episodes, but even then they provide a backstory in a way--and it kept me interested.

You know, I only watched a few episodes of FMA (I know I need to finish it haha) and I watched almost all of Bleach, but I'm picking FMA. Bleach just drags on and on and on and it has too many boring arcs and it's just not balanced, the style changes for the worse halfway of the series and I just dropped it. FMA just seems so much more interesting, even just from watching one or two episodes you can tell that.

I've watched the entirety of both the FMA series, as well as Bleach (except for some of the fillers, it was just ridiculous), and I like both a lot, but I definitely feel FMA is superior.

Comparing the two almost becomes pointless, because even at the first glance FMA wins in pretty much every aspect.
It has a very well crafted story (in the case of Brotherhood, the 2003 series was practically a mess IMO (though still better than most of Bleach)), amazing and very life-like characters (Bleach does have a good bunch of nice ones, but they're difficult to take seriously), MORE LOGIC, and well, better production value. Though the latter is partly because in a show as long as Bleach it isn't worth putting the money in constant quality material.

Bleach is a series with great potential milked to infinity and logically raped by Kubo's writing. I would say I like the art style (art style =/= animation), but other than the characters themselves the art is mostly generic and repeatedly recycled.

That's as much as I feel like writing now, but well, you get the basic idea.
