Take a Green(Grn) Apricorn to Kurt in Azalea town. The next day he'll give you a friend ball.
Green Apricorns can be found on the middle part of Route 42, past a cut-able tree. There's a Yellow, Pink and Green Apricorn tree. (Pink & Yellow will make Love & Moon Balls.)

Yeah, some are kinda hard to remember. I always got Red, White & Green mixed up. XD

One day, I believe. I'm not sure how it's determined, though. I don't know if it's the date change or a set number of hours, or whatever.

No you don't, since Gold, Silver and Crystal have a built in battery which control the in game clock, when the game is off.

so.. umm does anyone know hwo to find the fire and thunder dog easily? =S i cant seem to find them i ran into the thunder one but its hard to get into him again... lol i have a strong pokemon with a attack that makes him so he cant run ;P but i cant seem to run into them =/

Raikou and Entei are found randomly, then can be tracked with the Pokédex.
Apricorn Balls require only one day to make, and it happens when the date rolls over.
I hope they add the Apricorn Balls to Platinum...it's really the one and only thing worth going back to Johto for, and it's certain Nintendo won't do remakes of Gold, Silver, and Crystal.
