Frenzy Plant. One of the Elemental Hyper Beam moves. But this one may be OK to use.
Venusaur is the only Pokemon that can learn this move. Razor Leaf and Solarbeam are the only other decent Grass-type moves it can learn.
Frenzy Plant is a strike then charge move, while Solarbeam is a charge then strike move.
    Compare these two battle scenarios.
    Kyogre used Ice Beam!
    It's super effective!
    60% damage.
    Venusaur used Frenzy Plant!
    It's super effective!
    60% damage!
    Kyogre used Ice Beam!
    Venusaur fainted!
    Kyogre is at 40% health!

    Venusaur is charging energy!

    Venusaur fainted!
    Kyogre is at 100% health!

    Which is better?

    Razor Leaf's power over 2 turns: 55+55=110
    Solarbeam's power over 2 turns: 0+120=120
    Frenzy Plant's power over 2 turns: 150+0=150

Razor Leaf with Scope Lens or Solarbeam in sun are >Frenzy Plant.
    But those waste space.
    Venusaur@Choice Band
    Frenzy Plant
    EQ
    Sludge Bomb
    HP Fire/Ice/Water/Electric

Sunnybeaming replaces HP with Sunny Day, and Razor Leaf with Scope Lens forbids Choice Band.

Of course the same does not apply for Blast Burn and Hydro Cannon.
    95+95=190
    190>150
    F/Thrower and Surf win!

    fufu.

    Nobody puts saur against kyogre.
    Nobody uses Solarbeam on saur.
NOBODY uses frenzy plant on saur, except you maybe.

uhhhh just stop while you're ahead dude, hyperbeam and friends will always be bad attacks for competetive battling.

Nintendo scrwed us over, either we get every grass type a leaf blade like move, or we all get free copies of Pokemon Diamond, Pearl, and XD

OK so you are saying that Razor Leaf>Frenzy Plant?
    Even though 55+55<150+0?
    Or does Venusaur just suck?
What do you do, toxistall with it?
    Razor Leaf
    Toxic
    Leech Seed
    EQ/Sludge Bomb or Substitute?

Vs Milotic would be a better example because Venusaur would win with Frenzy Plant and lose with Solarbeam.

If the thing needed to do damage with attacks.

    Or does Venusaur just suck?

With a sweeper moveset it sure does.

    ~Venusuar@Leftovers
    Sludge Bomb
    Leech Seed
    Sleep Powder
    Synthesis/Hidden Power Grass/Earthquake/Giga Drain/Substitute.

    it's called Seedstalling.

When you must have an Electric type or get raped by Suicune now-a-days, that Electric type can easily handle Milotic. Venusuar does not need to KO Milotic.

who the heck makes venasaur a sweepert? it's not like he has the speed to get the job done. if you want sweepert go with sceptle(overgrow+petaya+leaf blade, or not). i like venasaur as a tank with leech seed+sleep powder, and either the modest or adamant sets.

Solar Beam, Frezzy Plant, Hyper Beam, Sky Attack all good for heavy damage in game but when it comes to competion then they suck. I a sitting duck for one turn. A friend of mines is trying to find a good moveset for Vensaur. He trying the SunnyBeamer thing with a Sleep Powder to boot.

Elite Four Protector, let's get the facts straight, shall we?

1.No-one with the least bit of sense would use Solarbeam during rain since rain halves its power.

2.Razor Leaf and Solarbeam aren't the only alternatives, ever heard of Hidden Power [Grass]? 85+85=170, 170>150

3.Venusaur is a lousy sweeper since it has such low speed and it doesn't have clorophyll so it isn't a proper sunnybeamer either.

Sleep Powder/Leech Seed is the way to go with Venusaur. This equation of yours makes just about as much sense as your earlier suggestion of putting a fighting move on Alakazam.

Yeah, but you forgot to include STAB on Frenzy Plant, so it still does less damage. But that's beside the point. After you use Frenzy Plant, you will almost certainly be dead. Why? Because your foe can switch in a pokemon that can set up on you, then finish you with its boosted stats/make FP useless with Sub.

lol STFU E4P before you're flamed out of here.

    Leaf Blade>All.

okay maybe this should be locked now... everyone knows that hyperbeam and friends suck.

Yeah I know Leaf Blade>all other grass moves. Can Venusaur learn Leaf Blade? I think not.
    Though 70+70<150+0....

That's probably the best idea I've heard all day.
