4th Gen Fossils!

In Pokémon Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum, two new Fossils were again introduced: the Skull Fossil and the Armor Fossil which turned into Cranidos and Shieldon respectively. For the first time in the series, the Fossils the player is able to receive are dependent on the version played: Skull Fossils are available in Diamond only and Armor Fossils in Pearl only. In Platinum, whichever Fossil a player digs up will depend on whether the Trainer ID is even or odd. If the Trainer ID is even, the player will dig up Armor Fossils only, and if the Trainer ID is odd, the player will dig up Skull Fossils only.

Which fossil did you go for in D/P? Did you use any of them on your teams? If not, why? In Platinum, which fossil did you end up getting when digging underground?

Well I had Pearl and the one time I got fossils in Plat I got the Armor Fossil too but I never used them for my team. I've always thought Shieldon was kind of adorable tho :>

When the games first released, I originally got Diamond so naturally I received the Skull Fossil. I contemplated on using it but alas I just revived it for the PokéDex. I'd have to agree I preferred Shieldon over Cranidos. The cute factor played a big role in this haha.

I got the Armour Fossil. I used Bastadon a few times, but after that, not really. It's rare to see any fossil Pokémon besides Aerodactyl these days. . .
