in this thread I want you to tell us which Pokemon you use, it's attacks and your strategy for Focus Punching. I'll start:

    Blastoise
    -Yawn
    -Focus Punch
    -Protect
    -Surf

Strategy: 1st Turn I use Yawn and in the 2nd I use Protect to avoid more damage. Than on the 3rd turn when the Pokemon is asleep I make Blastoise use Focus punch

That is the weirdest use of Focus Punch I have ever seen. I much prefer SubPunch, or in Breloom's case, SporePunch:

    Breloom @ Leftovers
    - Focus Punch
    - Leech Seed
    - Spore
    - Substitute / Swords Dance

    Gengar @ Leftovers
    - Focus Punch
    - Ice Punch / Giga Drain
    - Substitute
    - Thunderbolt

    Dragonite @ Leftovers
    - Focus Punch
    - Ice Beam
    - Substitute
    - Thunderbolt

    Raichu @ Leftovers
    - Focus Punch
    - Substitute
    - Thunderbolt
    - Wish

    Tyranitar @ Leftovers
    - Crunch
    - Focus Punch
    - Substitute
    - Thunderbolt

    Aggron @ Leftovers
    - Focus Punch
    - Ice Beam
    - Rock Slide
    - Substitute

    Mine is...

    Regirock @ Leftovers

    Double team
    Rest
    Curse
    Focus Punch

With Curse, I can upgrade the punch!

    I'll post others later.

As Professor David said, SubPunching, SporePunching and stuff...is much more useful.

Uh, Eon, there's hardly any way you can stop them from hurting you with an attack, and Double Team isn't especially good.

You are off the hook, Bonzai. Just found an even weirder use of Focus Punch! I will assume this set is strictly in-game, where the weak AI isn't smart enough to switch in a Ghost-type that makes this moveset absolutely worthless. Gastly ftw.

Double Team fails. Even when you have used it the max of 6 times (any more than 6 has no effect), the opponent still has a 33% chance of attacking. That ends up being a complete waste of time and turns that Regirock could have spent attacking. Never understood the fascination with such a bad move. Oh well, against the weak AI it probably works well enough. Just avoid using it competitively, as it will fail miserably 95% of the time.

    Gengar!?!?

Well, Sporepunching rocks but I'd use "unrenderable"

    Raichu@Lum
    Hasty
    Thunderwave
    Sweet kiss
    Focus punch
    Volt tackle

    I use it in Arena...

You must not battle competitively if you are not familiar with McGar. SubPunching Gengar used to be a great Blissey counter until Blissey started using Ice Beam. Used to be a great Curselax counter as well. Gengar sitting behind a Sub with its speed and firepower is pretty sick to fight against.

I'm basing on Regirock's huge defense for the time. Double team's can be useful for continuing the focus. I never rely on SporePunching, especially the foe's got Chesto berry or has the ability Early Bird. I can also sub the Rest, with Rock slide or Stone Edge.

    Here's another one.

    Snorlax @ Brightpowder

    Focus Punch
    Curse
    Shadow ball
    Earthquake.

With BP, I can at least I have a chance of hitting, with Snorlax's great stats, It cannot be easily beaten.

You do know snorlax has a crappy physical defense, right?

    heres mine

    blisse @ life orb
    adamant
    252 atk 252 def 6 speed

    focus punch
    softboiled
    substitute
    rest

    ....

    jk,hers my real set

    Blaziken @ choice band
    jolly
    252 atk 252 speed 6 sp. atk

    focus punch
    substitute
    flamethrower
    earthquake

You don't rely on SporePunching, but you rely on Double Team? Here is the break down of that horrible move:

    1 DT - 75%
    2 DT - 60%
    3 DT - 50%
    4 DT - 42%
    5 DT - 37%
    6 DT - 33%

So after SIX turns of using DT, your opponent still has a 33% chance of its attack working. Look at it this way. 1 DT = 75% while 1 Spore = 0%. Let's even take the odd chance the opponent is holding a Chesto/Lum Berry. 1 DT - 75% while 1 Spore = 100%. DT wins, but let's go another round. 2 DT = 60%, 2 Spore = 0%. I much rather have my opponent have 0% chance of attacking than 60%.

Also, that Snorlax needs Leftovers, instead of Brightpowder. Leftovers increases its HP by 1/16 while Brightpowder only raises its evasion by 10%. That just plain sucks. Since you are going without Rest on Curselax, Leftovers is far more valuable.

People, you REALLY need to consider how you're going to land a Focus Punch in the first place.
    Snorlax @ Brightpowder

    Focus Punch
    Curse
    Shadow ball
    Earthquake.
Yes, great. 10% accuracy down is NOTHING. Do you know how much a Tackle hits? Brightpowder will only make something like Return have a little less accuracy than that.
And the other one isn't any more useful. By the time you've got enough Double Teams and Curses for you to have a good chance at FPing, they'll have killed you.
