3rd Gen Fire Red or Leaf Green for Water Types?

    I apologise if this isn't allowed, I just need to check this out as I'm rather concerned about this

    I am going to get one of these games to get a decent roster of Pokemon from the Kanto Reigon then transfer them over to Pearl on my DS for some AWESOME Wi-Fi battles once I have access to it, but I have no idea which of these games is better for water type Pokemon, and they're my favourite type by far *gwomps Buizel*

    well there are more Water type Pokemon in Leaf Green that there are in Fire Red

    Those water types in LG/FR can pretty much all be caught in D/P. So both would be fine in getting water types. Rather go for the version exclusives that you like better and have those for migrating then looking just at water types.

    FR has better exclusives, but whichever one you choose won't make too much difference with Wifi trading around.
     
    Well Lapras would be the best choice for a water type. And you can get him in both FR and LG. So like they said above just look at the exclusives.
     
    I'll go for LG, LG has Staryu, Slowpoke etc.
    but the LG is I think the Sinnoh Version of LG so I suggest you buy FR instead.
     
    It looks like FR has 7 exclusive water pokemon while LG has 11 exclusives, yeah i say LG has more water pokemon.
     
    I would buy Fire Red. The water pokemon that it has are better in my opinion.

    Here's another suggestion. If you're going to pay $30 for Fire Red, why not just get an Action Replay and have no limitations. Unless of course you don't want to cheat.

    Even if you people think cheating should be banned, IT CAN'T, cause theres nothing we can do to stop cheaters from cheating, and from players going to a Bestbuy and buying an AR to cheat. But do you have a solution, i don't think so. Unless you brain washed all the people in world to stop. I dont see how its possible.

    That may be true, but you can get a whole number of them in D/P and since he's planning to migrate to Pearl, I'd just suggest to go for the one that has Pokemon he prefers.
     
    Well, I'm still not decided but thanks for the advice so far ^^ I won't be migrating them 'till I've completed FR/LG

    Though since they're cheaper now I may get both off Ebay, but then again I'd have to play the game twice...again, I dunno

    there is a way but its kinda unrealistic.If we were to break all electronic devices then it'd be impossible for someone to hack would tthere? but if that happened think what would happen to our society.It'd crumble down 2 pieces and we'd go back to a simpler time with a lil better way of transportation...so ya...and beside all those great inventers' inventions would go to waste.also i would pick FR if u have pearl and LG if u have diamond cause ull get alot of better pokemon that way and most of the version exclusive water types are in D/P so it doesnt rly matter.
     
    Consdering one of the best water Pokemon is an exclusive go for Leaf Green. Not to mention plants and water have something in common. XD

    By the way that exclusive Pokemon is Starmie. But it doesnt really matter. It is all up to preference. Those games can be bought for $20 now.
