Does anyone ever notice the eye designs in Pokémon throughout the generations?

    [PokeCommunity.com] Eye Design in Pokemon

I think this may be a major issue Genwunners have with the newer Pokémon. If they don't have the same eye design introduced in the first two gens (angry eyes from the above image, black beady eyes like Pikachu's, colored pupils with white retina like Jigglypuff's), then they aren't considered "Pokémon" to them. But I wish to know what you guys think about the eye designs. Do you prefers the older designs and they were dominant again or do you want more diversity in eye designs?

I'm a fan of both tbh, I like the sharp, intimidating look of the older Pokemon but I think that the newer eye designs work really well with some Pokemon and look pretty cool. The older eyes are nostalgic to me but for once I don't necessarily prefer them to their newer counterparts. Interesting subject!

Huh... Weird. I never noticed that.
Well, that could be part of the reason some people don't like new Pokemon designs. The eyes are the window to the soul, after all. Maybe if Trubbish had angry eyes they'd like him better?

I personally do like the newer eye designs on the Pokemon. The new eyes are not just a sign of art evolution from over the years, but they look cuter as well.

The animation of Pokemon altogether has become more rounded shapes than straight lines, I guess it is to keep coming up with new designs.
The early ones look meaner. You know if they have triangular eyes, they mean business.
