Exeggutor Island?

    So I'm just playing through Pokemon Sun now (I got Moon at launch but only just got the second game) and have reached Exeggutor Island. The Chief of the sea folk states that it "used to be a trial site," so perhaps in the alternate story line of Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, we will see a trial occur here?

    This is the only thing that I've really given any thought regarding the new games, so in all likelihood I am very wrong but would like to know what other people think?
     
    They either better convert Exeggutor Island to something more useful or reinstate the original trial site held there.
     
    We may get a totem Exeggutor in a new trial made there.
     
    That place was one of the weirdest in Sun and Moon, you only spend like 5 minutes in there, 4 of which is a nice cutscene with Lillie and the other is looking for the Flute, it always felt to me like there was supposed to be something more there, although I do like the lore building with "there was a trial here", so it makes sense. I'd like to see a trial there, and A-Exeggutor just screams "Totem Pokemon" to me. For a Pokemon so widely advertised before this game, you'd think he'd play a bigger role.
     
    I kinda feel like it was just there to show off Alolan Exeggutor in a derpy/proud way. They seem to be really happy with how Alolan Exeggutor turned out so it wouldn't surprise me.
     
    I would like to see Exeggutor Island as a trial site like it was once mentioned to be, and with the whole alternate story thing I think it should happen.
     
    Exeggcutor Island practically had "cut content" plastered all over it in 1000-foot high neon lettering. I felt like it was something they couldn't remove/block off because dataminers would inevitably uncover it and wonder why they couldn't go there in the main game (they MUST be aware of datamining by now even if they do release poorly protected demos) so they just kept it in and stripped it right down.

    Along with the Alternate World, it's one of the locations from SM I expect to be much more fleshed out and actually worth visiting in USUM. Although with what I couldn't say. Even if it was previously a trial site, I feel like a trial is too obvious, although if Alolan traditions are being pushed out in USUM in favour of Gyms as some people speculate I think they could try and re-establish it here. It depends on how the games tie into SM - if they even do outside of sharing the setting.
