Evangelion Vs. Godzilla

    Not sure if this should be in the Anime & Manga subforum because of NGE or in the General Entertainment subform because of Godzilla. Basically, there's going to be a crossover between Neon Genesis Evangelion and Godzilla in the future. Everyone thought it was just an April Fools joke from Japan until it turns out to be the real deal. You can find the official website of this collaboration here (it's all in Japanese, so a translator is required). What are your thoughts? Is this a match-up made in anime heaven or are you still skeptical about this collaboration being real?
     
    This sounds like an amazing crossover if you ask me. I wouldn't be surprised if it takes several years to make or worse come to worse... ends up cancelled, however.
     
    Sounds silly as hell, and angels fighting Godzilla just sounds like fuel for some Anno wankery- which should make it interesting.

    Unless it's actually Eva vs. Godzilla, literally, as the title implies, in which case...eh. I'd be quick to dismiss it but this graphic:

    and the name "True Godzilla" (or Shin Godzilla) do breed this idea that, not only will there be Anno-wankery, but it's also gonna be some End of Eva-ass business and Godzilla's character's gonna be played with, so I'm interested, to some extent. Skeptical, but interested.
     
    This reminds me of that whole Avengers x Attack on Titan crossover that happened a little while back. I like this sort of thing; it amuses me. We need more ridiculous stuff like this. I'd kill for a Power Rangers/Super Sentai x Precure crossover, or a Gundam/Transformers crossover. It's fanservice, plain and simple, and that's never a bad thing...well, provided it isn't explicit.
     
    Really? I can't believe they're actually doing this. It's gonna be a train wreck, but honestly it might be better that way. Completely over the top and ridiculous instead of some introspective quagmire like Evangelion is sometimes.

    Maybe Ultraman can have a small part like Wonder Woman did in Batman vs. Superman.
     
    So long as he finishes Evangelion 3.0+1.0 etc. first, then he can do whatever he likes with the two. I have to admit, Eva would not last five minutes against Godzilla, methinks.
