Earth Badge question?

    just curious..why are there two different looking earth badges?
    ive seen the green leaf looking one that ash gets at Viridian City

    but i recently saw some green asparagus looking thing :cer_no:

    all the other badges look the same

    hmmm..why?

    This is the game one.

    Neither are fake, they just happen to look different. I can't tell you why though or I'd have to kill you...I honestly have no idea why.
     
    Anime bases itself off the games, so that doesn't mean things end up exactly the same. You can apply the same to characters too; the anime made gym leaders main characters (or more so than the games did anyway) and added many more, and also adds locations, so a changed-up design for a badge isn't too surprising. I wonder though if that's the case with any of the other badges?

    For those of you too lazy to look (after I did all that work?!), the Boulder Badge is shaped slightly off even though it has the right number of sides. That's it other than the Earth Badge.
     
    I just think that they have redesigned the badge just for HearGold and SoulSilver, as the gym leaders (if we compare SS/HG gym leaders with the one from the anime, it's obvious that they are totally different, the "aim" of these remake were changement). So it's not surprising that some badges design were changed too...
    And BTW in the anime Earth badge design is the same than from BRY and Leaf Green/FireRed.

    Wow, that's really interesting! Do we know if it was the same in FR/LG or different? Because it would be an interesting development if they really didn't redesign it until HG/SS...

    Yes it's the same than in the anime and RBY in FR/LG too :pink_nod: They redesigned it just for HG/SS.
