when you select your attacks do you mostly use the d-pad or the stylus? I mostly use the d-pad myself... which do you prefer?

D-pad & Circle Pad. You don't really need a stylus in Pokemon games plus the D-Pad & Circle pad is more comfy for me :P

I use the touchscreen for battle, and the D-Pad for just about everything else. I just find the touchscreen easier to use when selecting moves and Pokemon.

I use my fingers, tbh. I never have the stylus really out because I don't need it, but I feel navigating through the entire menu using the d-pad is kind of clunky so I use my fingers because it's faster haha.

I use my fingernails. D-Pad is to slow and gets rid of the whole point of the touch screen, using your fingers gets fingerprints all over the screen, and i'm too lazy to take out the stylus, and i'm definitely not holding it the whole game. So, yeah.

When I'm battling, playing mini games or trading, I use the touch screen, but when I'm on the field, I use the D-Pad.

D-Pad; Outside of battle too. I almost never use the stylus (or my fingers). My stylus is always tucked in nice and comfy :3. I find it more comfortable. It's kind of like.. inherited from playing on the GBA and GB Color. :B

    I use...

The Circle Pad. Not the D-Pad or the stylus. It's faster for me to use the Circle Pad for everything on my 3DS. It's also more comfortable in the long run, so...

I use a little bit of both. In battle, you'll never see my fingers near the touchscreen: maybe it's just been drilled into my subconscious to always press down and right on the D-Pad when trying to escape from a wild battle, and even when fighting trainers, the impulse has always been to just stay on the left of the DS for whatever reason. Outside of battle, though, I like the interface of the touchscreen. If I want to check items, check on the PokeDex for some reason, or just save and quit, I'll always use the trusty stylus and click on it directly. It just feels right, and more intuitive in a way. So, that's me.

D-pad. Sometimes if I'm multitasking and my game is beside me, I use my fingers. I only really use the stylus for using my PC boxes on HGSS and BW, and for nicknaming Pokemon. It goes much smoother when you tap the letters instead of having to go around through all of them with the d-pad.

The directional pad seems more natural to me, so the d-pad is my choice when it comes to attacking in battle. Never really used the touch screen in pokemon games. My stylus also tends to fall out for some reason. Annoying.

D-pad for doing almost everything and Touch screen to battle that means I mostly use the D-pad although I like Touch screen the most

D-Pad unless I'm lazy and don't feel like having both games on the gameboy. Then during battles I'll just stick to either my finger or pull out the stylus. It really helped in HGSS, because I could use the D-Pad and run without having to hold down the 'B' button, and then during battles I could just use the finger that I was pressing down on the D-Pad with. Doesn't work as well with D/P/Pl.

    This, more or less.

Fingernails work just as well as the stylus, and takes half the time to use. Far easier.
