Welcome to DotA Mafia! If you are unfamiliar with what mafia is and how to play it - please take a moment of your time to read up The Underground Guidelines and Beginner Guides.
In DotA Mafia, all players will be split into 3 factions: Radiant, Dire and Neutral. When signups are closed, all players will receive a PM informing them of their alignment. A player who is notified of being either Radiant or Dire will have to respond with a selection of 3 heroes from their respective alignment (see Role list below) in order of preference. Neutral players will not have listed roles, instead they will have a pseudo-RNG'd HP value, Attack value, and Night Attack value.
The objective of the Radiant and Dire are to eliminate the opposing faction and to outnumber the remaining members of the Neutral faction. The Neutrals objective is to be the only remaining faction in the game or to accrue 15 000 gold amongst all members. All players from each faction will not know the identity/role of any other player at the start of the game.
Gold? What does gold do? How do I get some? Everyone starts off with a small amount of gold and more will be rewarded out at the end of each day/night phase based on several things. Gold Mechanics
- Each player starts with 100 gold, and passively earns 50 gold at the end of each day
- Using the [farm] action as opposed to attacking will yield 100 gold at the end of the day instead. However you will receive more damage if attacked during the day.
- Overall contribution to discussions in the game throughout a day phase will be rewarded at the end of the day.
- Failure to abide by rules can result in a loss of gold
- Dealing damage to an enemy faction hero that dies that phase will yield 100 gold.
- Dealing the lethal blow to an enemy faction hero will yield 500 gold.
- Dealing damage to a Neutral player that dies that phase will yield 50 gold.
- Dealing the lethal blow to a Neutral player will yield 150 gold.
- Dealing damage to a teammate that dies that phase will result in a loss of 100 gold.
- Dealing lethal damage to a teammate will result in a loss of 50 gold, but also prevent the enemy faction from making any gold off the kill.
- Selling items will yield a quarter of their original value.

Broadsword (500): Passively increase attack damage by 5.
Crystalys (500): Passively increase attack damage by 10. 10% chance to deal double damage. Requires Broadsword.
Daedalus (500): Passively increase attack damage by 15. 25% chance to deal double damage. Requires Crystalys.
Stout Shield (200): Passively reduces incoming attack damage by 1.
Vanguard (1000): Passively reduces incoming attack damage by 4. Recover 1 HP at the end of every day phase. Requires Stout Shield.
Vitality Booster (500): Increases health by 20.
Heart of Tarrasque (1000): Increases health by 100. Recover 10 HP at the end of every day phase. Requires Vitality Booster.
Cloak (200): Reduce incoming ability damage by 1.
Hood of Defiance (500): Reduce incoming ability damage by 3. Recover 1 HP at the end of every day phase. Requires Cloak.
Aether Lens (500): Increases ability damage by 2.
Dagon (1000): Increases ability damage by 5. Once a game, can shoot someone for 50 damage. Requires Aether Lens.
Rapier (3500): Increases attack damage by 50. If wielder dies, the last person to hit them will obtain The Rapier.
Black King Bar (1500): Twice in the game, you may make yourself immune to abilities used on you for one day and night phase.
Status Effects - There are only two status effects in the game, with multiple abilities being able to cause them (RE: role list). They are:
Stunned - Can not attack nor farm for the duration
Silenced - Can not use abilities for the duration

- Your first two abilities either take effect passively or you can use them once a night

Dragon Tail: Stun target for 2 day and night phases. Target takes 1 damage.
Dragon Blood: Reduce damage taken by 2. Regenerate 1 HP at the end of every phase.
Elder Dragon Form: For 2 day and night phases, double your passive and your attack.

Null Field: Reduce damage taken from skills by 2
Spell Steal: Copy the most recent skill used on you.

Overpower: Attack twice on the next day. Receive double damage during those days.
Fury Swipes: Every consecutive attack on the same target will deal an extra 2 damage.
Enrage: The next overpower is doubled (four attacks instead of two).

Repel: Target player can not be targeted by other night actions.
Purification: Heals target by 15
Guardian Angel: All Radiant members will take no damage during the next day phase.

Aphotic Shield: Every 5 damage you take, you deal out 5 damage to a player.

Unstable Current: Reduce a player's damage by 2 the day after they target you.
Eye of the Storm: Reveals yourself. Deals 5 damage every phase to the player with the least amount of remaining life.

Hunter in the Night: Can use his attacks during the night as well as during the day.
Darkness: Day becomes night and normal night phase follows. Your damage is doubled for those nights.

Rot: Deal 2 damage to yourself and 4 to anyone that visits you that night.
Flesh Heap: If anyone dies on the day or night they are targeted/attacked by Pudge, he gains 2 to max (and current) life.
Dismember: Reduce target's max life by 20 and increase your own by 20.
Rules:
1. All PC rules apply, as per usual.
2. No posting if you are not a part of the game or have died. If you have died, you are allowed one death post that contains ZERO information relevant to the game.
3. Day phases should last 48 hours and night phases 24 hours.
4. During the day, use the format [ATTACK] username or [FARM] to declare your action.
5. Failure to declare an action during the day or night will result in penalization and if continued - death.
6. If you wish to abstain from a night action, PLEASE PM that you wish to do so.
7. Do not talk about details of this game outside of this thread. There will be no skype groups or mafia groups using the forum. Ensure all related discussion takes place here.
8. Posting at night will result in punishment!
