I know a pokemon with Sychronize in the lead of your party has a 50% chance of having the wild pokemon it encounters have the same nature as it does, but does this count for event encounters, like the legendaries? Has anyone tried and noticed any difference?

Also, what would you suggest for natures for the various legendaries? I know since gen 3 a mixed Groudon has ALWAYS been criticized by practically everyone on every message board I've ever seen, so I presumed with gen 6 with all the new moves that would have been remedied since there are so many more options now and every type attack can be special OR physical, but nope! Not at all. Unless you want to settle for Fire Punch, Groudon (who now becomes ground AND Fire type) still should be mixed if you want to make full use of it's ability as well as now it's typing. So, what would you suggest would be the best nature for a mixed Groudon? What legendary are you currently hunting and what nature are you going for with that?

And finally, I was curious about this, do the legendaries in ORAS have the same IV rule as in X and Y? As in, every single legendary (in Kalos anyway) always has at least 3 perfect IVs? Did they carry that over?

It worked in X/Y so I'm assuming that's the same in ORAS. Also yes, the legendaries do have the same IV thing as my Groudon in had 3 perfect IVs, but unfortunately has a neutral nature so I probably won't be the best for ubers wifi battles.

As for how to use Groudon? I'm not super experienced with the Ubers metagame, but given it's ability and typing making it only have 1 weakness, but poor speed I'd think a mixed tank set would be his best use. So depending on if you want his as a Physical Wall or a Special Wall, I'd go with either a Relaxed or Sassy nature as you don't need speed. Why mixed you say? Because he doesn't get any Physical Fire moves and with STAB plus Sun, you need to run a fire move. You also don't want to let his massive attack stat go to waste, and you'll want that Stone Edge for those pesky Flying Type switch ins (I'm looking at you Rayquaza). So yeah, mixed is definitely the way to go for Primal Groudon.

Primal Groudon is indeed Ground/Fire. Also I just realised that Stone Edge wouldn't hit Mega Quaza super-effectively because of his OP ability. It honestly wouldn't surprise me if Mega Rayquaza is banned from Ubers as ludicrous as that seems.

Synchronize works on legendaries too. The only thing it doesn't work on is gift/event Pokemon with set natures.

As for Primal Groudon, you could probably run a mixed set this time around since it's base Sp.Attack goes from 100 to 150 and it gains Fire typing upon reversion. So Solarbeam and Fire Blast are viable options for it. It can still run good ol' physical sets though, since it also got an Attack increase. I've been using a Rock Polish one on Showdown, and it seems to work ok (when I don't do stupid ****, and I'm still working on the team as a whole). Fire Punch might seem underwhelming when compared to Fire Blast, but I think it still works alright; it's as strong as a STAB Earthquake and probably hits about as hard as a Fire Blast depending on EV investment.

Primal Kyorge is basically the same as regular Kyogre except for the souped-up Rain ability and the stat increases. Though it also can't use Choice Specs or choice Scarf, which were really nice on it.

IDK if the 3 IV thing is still in effect in ORAS. I'm not that far into the game lol. But you'd think that they would carry that over from X/Y.

I am SO glad to hear that Synchronize does work on the legendaries! That would drive me insane to have to go through battles over and over again with it being completely random! (well, it's still random, but only 50% random) and I'm glad to see a mixed Groudon is considered viable, I remember being yelled at back in the gen 3 days on message boards for daring to suggest a mixed Groudon, lol! :D

Well, the reason why no one wanted to use mixed Groudon before now was because base 100 Sp.Attack is really underwhelming in Ubers (so Fire Punch would easily out-damage Fire Blast/Overheat), Kyogre shuts down Solarbeam (and was a common Groudon switch-in), and other Pokemon could use fire attacks better, like Blaziken, V-Create Rayquaza, White Kyurem, etc.

And now I'm off to try a mixed Rock Polish Primal Groudon and see how many worlds it destroys.
