does anyone else associate pelipper with protect and meditite with detect

Zubat with Supersonic, Vulpix with Confuse Ray, Gastly with Lick, Miltank with Rollout (although I also associate Phanpy with Rollout because of that one hilarious scene in the third Pokemon movie), and Kadabra with cheating--I mean, with Recover, all spring to mind here.

Hmm...

Clefairy and Munchlax with Metronome. Clefairy is pretty much the mascot of that move, and May's Munchlax used it a lot in the anime. So, these two Pokemon are the first I think about when it comes to Metronome. Abra and Teleport since...well, that's the only move it'll know when you catch one. And I've had many Abra escape Pokeballs for me and use that move immediately. :')

Weavile with Night Slash. It is a Dark-type Pokémon that specializes in surprise ambushing, slashing, and it does evolve from Sneasel if holding a Razor Claw during the night.

Marshtomp with Mud Shot. It's the one Ground-type move that you'd be using for the whole game with it, prior to Gen V, at least. Earthquake is a rare or one-off TM that's best reserved either for another physical powerhouse or until you exploit that cloning glitch in Emerald.

Lucario with Aura Sphere. That move was definitely made in mind for it. It is a common association, as Lucario is an intelligent Pokémon.

Volcarona with Quiver Dance. It is the most viable user of such a great setup move before it starts burning and buzzing everything.

Crobat with Confuse Ray. It is a dirty trick that evil team leaders love using sometimes. I dread facing Maxie in particular in Emerald because of how it outspeeds every Pokémon that isn't Electrode.

Snorlax with Rest. Perfect for a notoriously lazy, yet powerful Pokémon back in the day. It's especially good or bad if it has Curse or Amnesia to survive powerful blows.

If I remember correctly, there was a trainer in gen 4(?) that had a Pelipper that didn't have any attacking moves. I remember it being good for training. :p

Clefairy with Metronome is probably the most iconic. And I always associate Breloom with Mach Punch since that was one of my favorites to use in competitive battling.

Also this isn't an attack but I still associate Dragonite with mail in general because of the first movie lol.

Meditite and detect are like the most iconic duo from Gen III haha, I also associate Vulpix with will-o-wisp and loads of other Pokemon with certain moves, take Snorlax and rest for example haha. The list could go on for ages!

Even though Weedle and other Pokemon can learn it, I always associate String Shot with Caterpie. And even though a bunch of Pokemon learn it via TM in gen 1, I've always thought of Horn Drill as a Seaking move.

Nidoran with Double Kick. That was the easiest way to defeat Brock in the first generation if you're not using your starters hah.

the machamp line is the one that reminds me of protect. the medicham line does remind me of detect though. I have always associated pelipper with lucky eggs. I always hunt for one whenever I replay ORAS.

flamethrower is basically charizard, fly is pidgeot, surf is lapras. psychic is alakazam.... there's so many more I wish I can list them all

Double Team with Ludicolo, because Wallace loves spamming that.

Then again, so does all A.I. But I've actually lost multiple times because I can't hit his Ludicolo.

pelipper with protect for sure lmfao. also pokemon and certain abilities. hell all electric types i think to myself "oh don't touch it it's got static" like honey that's jolteon no it doesn't lmfao
