I stopped watching during Best Wishes because I felt the quality of the anime took a turn for the worse from DP. I am now back to watching the XY series, and I even watched the Diancie movie. I enjoy the XY series.

Do you recommend I give BW another shot? What about the BW movies? The only one I saw was the Keldeo movie.

In all honesty, BW was probably the worst saga overall in the Pokemon franchise. The complete reversion of Ash to a beginner trainer, worse than any other reversion imo, was very frustrating and sometimes made me want to stop watching. That being said though, I still watched the whole saga and don't regret a single thing. Sure there are lots of filler episodes and the quality isn't as good but its unfair to expect the Pokemon series to be this top notch anime since that isn't what its meant to be. Sure, the producers made some massive mistakes in regards to BW but they're just humans and we all make mistakes, big and small. Like I said, I still watched that saga and still enjoyed it because I came to terms that it isn't supposed to be amazing and its still fun to watch Ash and co. go on adventures, meet awesome new Pokemon and fight the evil team.

So in conclusion, I would definitely still watch the BW saga because its Pokemon and Pokemon is fun to watch!

This really depends on the person. Chances are if you didn't like it at first, you probably aren't going to like it.

You might want to watch the Undella/Team Rocket Arc and the Plasma arc. Which is right before and right after the Pokemon League.

I for one liked the series. I can see why a lot of people wouldn't due to the fact Ash was reverted and a lot of people weren't very fond of the games to start with.

BW 85 to BW 97 is the Dawn/Meloetta/Team Rocket Arc (I highly suggest this for reason that I will not spoil)
BW 109 to BW 122 is the Team Plasma Arc (I have seen a lot of them, but not all and I really enjoy the story driven theme of it.)

As for the movies, honestly they were probably some of the worst. I liked Victini/Reshiram/Zekrom movie due to me loving them.
Keldeo is probably by far one fo the worst movies to me.
Genesect and Mewtwo movie was ok, but it still was not the greatest.

The BW saga has their moment, I like having tournaments filler sagas that BW had , we also finally got to see Giovanni vs Ash in a sense which was long over due , the team plasma arc and the team rocket acs were cool

Agreed. These were the best parts of the entire BW saga (besides Team Rocket finally beginning to be a competent villainous team). In all honesty, it was probably the worst generation of the anime (while Ash did revert after every region, it wasn't nearly as bad, and May and Dawn helped to minimize Ash's sense of starting over by them being new trainers instead). I will say that Ash caught more pokemon in Unova than he did in any other region. However, as you never see any of them when he's in Kalos (so far) but the league hasn't happened yet, and that's where he tends to bring back our old favorites.

Something fun, however, is watching the last few episodes of the BW series (I think from the Team Plasma Arc to the end) because after the Team Plasma plotline concludes, Ash is gradually eased into Kalos. It makes for a neat little segue into XY. But if you decided you don't want to watch BW, I don't blame you

Easing into Kalos ones are the Decolor Islands arcs which is all fillers. But they go to many different islands. It happens right after Plasma Arc and when they are going back to Kanto. Some episodes are good, but some can be annoying.

Stay far far away from it! I know it is not a reboot but it just feels so weird. It does not mesh with the other series at all. The feel of it is just hard to explain exactly. I guess to me (and a lot of others it seems) they took out any success Ash had with battles like combos and planning and gave him a fresh start. Heck to me he felt more naive than OS Ash. From OS to AG to DP Ash grew as a trainer but with BW he just seems so weird. The funny thing is that XY feels more like a follow up to DP than it does to BW. Not just with Ash but with how the series is being done.

Pretty sure it was not all filler.

    Oak getting Rotom

Ash learning about Kalos from Alexa

Clair returning which is a segway into an Iris focused episode.

    The trio departure

Sure a good chunk was filler but not all.

Well, odd one out, but I honestly could recommend it if you want a "change" in the way the Pokemon anime handles itself. It's like a restart to the anime. Yes, Ash goes back to square one again, but it's worth it for the less annoying gags (ie, Team Rocket Blasting Off), and dipping the waters into a different chemistry without Brock. However, it has a bunch of cons overall, such as as weak overall cast, and this part of the franchise itself is consider one of the worst sagas. However, I'd still give it a go if you want to see a different outlook for Team Rocket, since that gag was put to rest for the first half of the series.

BW wasn't perfect but it did make the anime a little more better, it also made Ash character well like again and interesting for a change, we got to see him put his skills to the test as a much better trainer in the Don Battle Tournments throughout the Unova series and that is a good thing.

XY is nothing like DP and that is a good thing, because XY anime is an hugh improvement over AG/DP and i like it like that.

The anime didn't start to suck until the AG/DP series got started.

Ash HAD no skill in BW They reduce him to nothing BW was just a lazy attempt to try new things that only like % 5 even liked

Saying AG and DP is better than BW is insane. BW reduced the series to sesame street level. Not to mention the group dynamic was horrible. Iris was not even a friend top Ash and Cilan but more of a stalker. Ash and Cilan were actually friends. Plus Iris was an annoying hypocrite to people. Sure Misty teased Ash but it was in good fun and she knew when to stop. Iris teases people for no reason other than being a poorly done character
