This topic has been bothering my thoughts, lately. Anyway, would you rather play a Ruby/FireRed ROM hack, rather than the new Generation IV Pokemon games? ROM hacks have a plus on nostalgia. Pokemon Platinum has liek, OMG graphixorz and all that. I'm not sure which one would be more worthwile... I mean, there are awesome Hacks out there. Just not sure.. What's your opinion on this?

I would by far rather play a rom hack because the good ones can have extremly unique plots, awsome storylines, and you have so many to choose from. No offense nintendo but the pokemon are getting more and more like digimon.

Pokemon Ruby had a somewhat "different" plot though. I mean, at the beginning, you start of on a truck. Now that's something you don't see everyday in Pokemon. Platinum has the presence of "been there, done that." kind of feeling. I concur, ROM hacks seem to be more unique. But in most occasions, Nintendo has better grammar. :D

I would rather play rom hacks because of two reasons. I don't like the new pokemon or the graphics. I've never played the 4th gen games because all the previews I saw looked bad. Also rom hacks are more unique and in my opinion better overall.

Well, most people try to use the best grammar that they can, but they cannot be sure that they are perfectly correct at all times (whereas Nintendo probably pays people to just look for grammar errors). I dunno, though; all of the Nintendo-esque Pokémon games all have the same general storyline: get the starters from the Professor, collect the eight gym badges, fill the Pokédex, stop the evil team from using Pokémon (usually legendary) to rule the world, and then battle the Elite Four and Champion. I mean, they vary from game to game, but it's pretty much the same.

and the nintendo people went to college. and your seeing very good hacks that have been made by teens mostly(I think, lol).

The youngest hacker that has made something decent that I've seen was a twelve-year old. The oldest that I know of was 26 or so. So, yeah, mostly teens, although there are a few out of that range. College and high school grammar shouldn't differ a whole lot, though.

Yes. ROM Hacks also tend to incorporate fan ideas that Nintendo never would; therefore, making them more appealing to fans in general.

Now I wonder who that was...(I can't actually tell whether I want it to be myself or not. O.o)

Yeah, ROM Hacks generally have ideas that fans like because the people making them are fans, and, generally, they're more interesting. =P
