First off, the Elite Four I am talking about is the Kanto Region's Elite Four. Since they have not had many appearances in the anime, I took this description of them from wikipedia describing the game ones:

Lorelei (Kanna), a specialist in Ice-type Pokémon who collects many Pokémon dolls.
Bruno (Shiba), a specialist in Rock/Ground and Fighting-type Pokémon who trains in mountains.
Agatha (Kikuko), the oldest Elite Four member ever, a specialist in Ghost- and Poison-type Pokémon, and ex-rival of Professor Oak (Yukinari Ōkido)
Lance (Wataru), a specialist in Dragon-type Pokémon and cousin of Gym Leader Claire of Blackthorn City.

Ash has had a multitude of teams in his pokemon career. He has been in a multitude of battles facing various trainers, gyms, and has fought in many tournaments and sometimes winning. Could any of Ash's combinations prevail against the Elite Four?

In my opinion he wouldn't be able to. None of the combinations he has had have been, in my opinion, to their furthest extent. At times he has had powerful pokemon beside him besides Pikachu such as Charizard, Donphan, Kingler, Snorlax, etc. But the other members of his team at those times lacked much compared to them in raw power, speed, and experience.

I remember Agatha winning her battle against him, but he would probably win a real 6 on 6 battle. Lorelei's anime version beat him easily (or was that Misty?) back in the OI, I still don't think he would stand a chance now. He might beat Bruno, but it'd be a close battle. He has NO chance against Lance.

He wouldn't be able to beat the Johto E4 either. Karen and Will would completely destroy him, and Lance is still there.

Well, if he could compose a team that has type advantags against them, he'd have a chance.

    Chariard would roast Lorelei.
    Squirtle would drown Bruno.
    Noctowl would psycho-nise Agatha.
    Glalie would freeze Lance.

I don't know. If he used those four Pokemon, he might stand a chance.

I think he'd need to work on getting farther in the respective leagues before taking on the elite four. Though he's alot closer to being able to do it than back in the days of the Indigo League. Plus, he's got a number of higher level Pokemon in reserve now so he'd need to decide to use them before he stands a chance.

It depends. Is Gary the "champion" now? Did he take one last run at the E4 and win? If Gary's there, no he wouldn't win. Without Gary, maybe.

I'd probaly say no just if you think about it ash's pikachu has won against like 3 rock pokemon at the same time...he could probaly take on Agatha and Lorelei

In one episode, Bruno was in it. He was trying to capture the giant Onix. Ash had a chance to fight the giant Onix, and he sent out Squirtle, who lost badly. That Onix became one of Bruno's pokemon.

You going to address the other Elites as well? Johto, we can skip because not one of them was featured in the arc, I'm excluding Lance, so that leaves Hoenn and hopefully Sinnoh's.

And for the argument, I'd say after his battle with Agatha, it's more feasible. The ever present is "will the writers let him win?"

I dont want to give ash full credit but I dont want to no give him credit at all. I think he can beat as certain amount of Elite 4 members. Like Wallace for example because he has a whole bunch of water type Pokemon just like Juan.

    :t354:~*!*~Queen Boo~*!*~

i dont know if Ash would win it be fun to see him vs the elite four though id probably say know the elite four is just to good .

I think Ash has gained enough experience over his journies to succesfully beat the Elite Four. His problem would be in choosing the members in his team. He would obviously pick Pikachu, but he could make a stupid decision like picking Corphish. If he was smart, and used some of his better pokemon (Sceptile, Snorlax, Donphan, Charizard, Heracross) he has a decent chance of beating the Elite Four.

If you want my personal opinion, he has the potential to beat any member of the Elite Four, but every time he finishes a region, he starts to raise a new team, so his stronger pokemon don't get enough battle experience with him to live up to their best standards.

Well, he's met them all, and fought against some.

Lorelei (Whatever her anime name was)- He fought against in the Orange Islands, and he lost. Bad. She used Jynx against Ash's Pikachu I think.

Bruno- He got that training from for awhile, in that one episode. I think he'd loose though.

Agatha- Well, Ash DID loose against her aswell, in "The Scheme Team" I think. But it was pretty close.

Lance- No way. Ash has met Lance, and I bet he will chalange him eventaully. But I bet he'd loose.

So overall, no, I don't think Ash has the slightest chance of beating the Elite Four. Now the Johto Elite Four could be different, since Koga is in it (Right?) and Ash beat Koga for the Soul Badge. So I don't think he'd have much trouble beating him again.

With Koga, I don't think so, as he would have to improve to make with the Elites. As the series has shown, there is a world of difference between a Gym Leader and a Elite Four. Be they power, skill, Pokemon, and I'll spare the "differing set of Leagues" line of thought.

Ash will lose, but on the show they will always find a retarted way for him winning

for example: climp bush, turn around, hit the ceiling, use the lightbulb to get energy and attack him with volt tackle with all u got!!!, etc.
