2nd Gen Cinnabar Island is gone

In generation II and their remakes, Cinnabar Island is completely gone. It was supposedly destroy because of a volcano Eruption, forcing Blaine to move his gym into a cave in the origianl, or Seafoam Islands in the remakes.

How did you feel about Cinnabar Island being mostly destroyed? I feel it's sad, but it happens to real locations because of volcanoes... so.

Kind of sad. But there weren't even any houses outside of the abandoned Pokémon Mansion. I always assumed that almost everyone were temporary workers of some sort from elsewhere.

My very first game was Crystal and the Kanto region at that time was completely new to me, let alone the Pokémon. It's almost like Johto is my Gen 1 in a way, but I specifically remembered as a child going to this island and thinking how cool and different it was to have a gym leader inside a cave haha.

I also kept imagining what the original island must have looked like... until I played Fire Red during my middle school days!

I felt sad thinking about the destroyed mansion.

It didn't really feel right in Gen 2 when the generic Kanto Town/City music played when you were on Cinnabar island, thankfully in HGSS they had a more appropriate theme to fit in with the mood

it was a bit unsettling imo. the mansion was a fun place for me, that's where I first caught a Ditto, I think. spent an hour messing with transform. just thinking that the mansion is gone, as well as the research lab is sad tbh :((
