Chobits and Elfen Lied

I love these two animes, but I have sort of a problem. I noticed that they are almost the same anime. I mean Nyu/Lucy and Chii/Freya have the same attibutes and the only real diffrence is Lucy's abilities. Can someone explain to me if there is any real diffrence.

Yeah, um I mean other then the fact that they are diffrent shows. I mean a real serious difference.

Well, that *would* be the serious difference. That they're not the same show. o_O Isn't that the major difference between things? Different stories, different art, different studios...

That Chobits is nowhere near as messed up as Elfen Lied is? The first few episodes are okay, but later on it just really starts to get creepy. Still, if you're going to pick Chobits, I'd stick with the manga. The anime probably isn't worth your time.

I know that. I mean also now let's compare personality of Lucy to Freya. Freya is not really that evil. She has a personality like Yuko (xxxHolic), where as Lucy just had a sad past and she is just plain mean.
